Mozu Admin Updates

See what’s new in this release for Mozu Admin. Refer to the How to update your Mozu theme section for information

on which features might require manual updates.

CATALOG

The following feature is new for Catalog:

Hide facets for subcategories

By default, all sub-category pages inherit facets from the parent category, but now you can override these settings and

hide facets on the sub-category pages. Hiding facets on subcategories helps you further define your customers’

shopping experience. For example, if you have a Price facet on the parent category of Sweaters, but you want to hide

the price facet in the sub-category of “On Sale Sweaters.”

To use this feature:

1. In Site Builder, hover over your site and select Edit. 2. Navigate to the navigation sub-category where you want to hide a facet. 3. Select Settings. 4. In Facets, select the sub-category and click Hide.

ORDERS

The following features are new for Orders:

New order refund workflow Accept free orders Order date based on submitted date

New order refund workflow

You complete a refund in Mozu when you need to refund the payment method (credit card or PayPal Express), but no

products or services are exchanged. You complete a return, or RMA (Returned Merchandise Authorization) in Mozu

when a customer returns a product either for a refund or an exchange.

The refund workflow is new in Mozu, and here’s how it works:

1. In Mozu Admin, select Orders.

2. Find and click on the order in which you want to create a refund.

3. In the Payments tab, click Refund.

4. In the Refund dialog, select Direct Refund or Store Credit.

a. For direct refund, select the credit card or PayPal Express account to issue the refund to from the drop-

down list and enter a refund amount. You can only refund either the full or partial amount listed in the

available refund amount. You cannot refund over the available refund amount total.

b. For store credit, enter a refund amount. Select the Allow credit to exceed amount collected checkbox

to refund the customer more store credit than the original amount collected.

c. Add any notes about the refund and click Save.

Clicking Save on a refund triggers the following actions:

The refund amount is processed to the payment gateway or store credit is set.

A refund email is sent to the customer.

Each refund is listed as a line item below each payment and as an item in the Refunds table in the Payments

page.

A refund amount is included on the Order header.

Note: This process does not adjust the original order amount.

Tips for working with refunds:

The Refund button appears only after one order payment has been captured.

You cannot directly refund a check.

For customers who have multiple payment methods, the available credit cards will be listed in the Direct

Refund drop-down.

Accept free orders

You can now submit and ship free orders from within Mozu. For example, a customer could select a $15.00 item and then apply a $15.00 off coupon and free shipping. Free orders do not require any payment processing steps and immediately go into Accepted status once you submit the order. When you fulfill the order, the status is marked as Completed.

Order date based on submitted date

In Mozu, the order created date is the date in which a customer proceeds to a checkout page. The order submitted date is the date in which the customer submits the order. The Orders grid includes a new column labeled "Submitted Date." By default, the order grid sorts descending based on the Submitted Date column. The previous "Order Date" column is now labeled "Create Date” and is no longer a default column. Items within the system that reflect the submitted date include: emails, receipts, packing lists, order summaries, and the individual order header. The label on these items may be Date, Order Date, or Submitted Date, but they all reflect the submitted date.

Resend transactional emails

To better serve your customers, you can now resend emails about orders, shipping, and returns.

MARKETING

The following features are new for Discounts:

Discount UI enhancements

Manage your discounts more efficiently with the enhanced discount grid. The grid allows you to search discounts, filter discounts, and view discount start and end time. By default, only active discounts are shown and expired discounts are hidden.

SEARCH AND FILTER DISCOUNTS

To find a specific discount:

1. In Mozu Admin, select Discounts.

2. Use the search bar or click the Quick Filter icon and select your filter criteria:

a. Discount name b. Coupon code c. Status d. Amount e. Discount level f. Discount effect g. Discount type h. Coupon start and end dates i. Coupon usage count range

3. Click Filter to view the results in the Order Grid.

DISPLAY DISCOUNT START AND END TIME

Now the discount grid shows the time for the start date and end date of the discounts.

HIDE EXPIRED DISCOUNTS

By default, the discount grid only displays Active discounts. To view other discounts, use the Quick Filter icon and

change the filter settings.

Here the discount grid shows the start and end date and time for an active 50% discount.

Accept Coupon Codes in Cart

In previous Mozu versions, customers applied coupon codes at checkout. Now customers can also apply coupon codes

in their cart, which allows them to see the impact of the coupons in their cart before entering checkout.

Restrictions for order-level discounts

You can now limit which products, product categories, or shipping scenarios are eligible for order-level discounts.

1. In Mozu Admin, select Discounts.

2. Click Create New Discount.

3. Select Discount Applies To Order.

4. In the Target Criteria section, add restricted products and product categories to the Exclude products in the

following categories or Exclude the following products.

For example, if you define a 20% off order total discount, you can use the Target Criteria section to do the

following:

Exclude specific products or product categories that are not eligible for a 20% off order discount.

Exclude products that are already on sale. With this setting, any product that has a Sale Price specified

will not be eligible for the 20% off discount.

Exclude products that already have other product or shipping discounts applied. For example, if all

products in your swimwear category are already 50% off, they will not be eligible for an extra 20% off

order total.

Note: In the Product Editor, you can also restrict a product from being discounted. Once you make this selection in the

Product Editor, neither line item nor order level discounts will apply to the product.

Note: Discount restrictions specified in the target criteria will not have an effect if you have an order level shipping

discount that targets flat rate per order shipping methods.

Dev Center Updates

Dev Center includes updates to theme development.

THEME DEVELOPMENT

Theme Development receives the following updates:

Ability to auto certify your theme

You can now auto-certify your theme. You must have the Mozu Dev Account Owner, Lead Developer, or Project

Manager role and your theme must include at least one asset to be eligible for auto certification.

1. In Mozu Dev Center, select Develop>Themes.

2. Click Create Theme or click the gear icon and select Edit to work with an existing theme.

3. Select More>Upload to add your theme files to Dev Center.

4. Drag and drop the .zip file of your theme files into the dialog and click Done.

5. Select More>Submit for certification.

6. In the Certify dialog, select Submit For Certification.

7. Now your theme status changes to Certified and is eligible to install into a production tenant.

Integrations receives the following updates:

storefront.

In-Store Sales Assistant App: An extension of the Mozu platform giving sales associates immediate access to

product, customer and order data. It was designed to help sales associates be more responsive to consumer

needs.

Mystic Sports: A Mozu storefront complete with products and customer data designed with current best

practices. Use these storefront example to learn more about the Mozu platform.

How to update your Mozu theme

You receive some March 2015 Service Update features automatically, but some features require you to manually

update your theme files to use the new features. Follow the steps below to see what Core files we changed, why

we made the change, and whether or not you need to do the same in your theme.

1. Download MozuMarch2015ThemeDiff here: https://github.com/Mozu/MozuDocumentation/blob/gh-

pages/ReleaseNotes/MozuMarch2015ThemeDiff. We recommend you view this file in Sublime Text or a

similar editor that offers color coding. This file shows the difference between previously existing code and

any additions, changes, or deletions we made for this release. Previous code is colored red and new

code is green. Here is an example of the breadcrumbs change we made in Sublime:

2. Use the following table to see which files changed, why we changed them, and whether or not you need

to update the same files in your theme.

3. For any files you need to update, search the MozuMarch2015ThemeDiff and copy our changes into

your theme files. Make any adjustments required specifically by your code.

CORE 6 THEME CHANGES

By default, all files are located in Mozu.SiteBuilder.UX.Themes/Themes/Core6.

Upgrade if you have overwritten your order details, packing slip, shipping, or email templates and are not inheriting from the base files. This update sets order date to the date the order was submitted.

This is a new email template and functionality to reflect the new order refund process. No need to change your work, it will automatically inherit changes we added. Our changes were additive only, so new refund email will work automatically.
