Welcome to this new school year! This year we will again be using the Reading Renaissance Program. The goal of this program is to help you improve your reading level as well as gain a new respect and even a LOVE of reading! We will also be working on basic skills to enhance your reading and prepare you for standardized tests such as the SAT and the AHSGE.

• STAR test to know reading level.

• Set points goal.• Check out books within

ZPD.• Read TWI• Read to reach points goal.• We love reading!!!

• I graduated from Brownwood High School in Brownwood, Texas in 1985.

• Associates Degree: Snead State Jr. College

• Bachelors Degree: Athens State College• Master’s Degree: UAH

All About Me!• My husband is Jeff. I have been married for almost 24

years. Jeff is an air traffic controller.• I have three children:• Adam is nineteen.• Erin is seventeen.• Amy is thirteen.• My girls go to school at Oneonta because they were

already enrolled there when I got a position at Cleveland. Adam attends UAB.

• I taught at Tanner High School for six years.• This is my eleventh year at Cleveland.

Closing• This class can only be as successful and as fun as

we make it. I hope that you will see this class as a challenge, but also as an opportunity to relax with a good book. Your behavior and success, both good and bad, will be well rewarded with not only grades that reflect your effort, but with many other rewards throughout the year.
