Our Schedule

The red Daily Take Home Folder goes to and from school every day. Please initial the calendar daily so that I know that

you have seen how your child’s day was. Students should empty the folder each night with

papers that come home from school, and students will also empty the red folder every morning if there are any notes or papers for me.

The blue Tuesday Folder goes home on Tuesdays, and it is returned on Wednesday morning. The students empty it and give me any papers as well.

Important News

Homework is assigned weekly. It will be posted every Friday afternoon and is due the following Friday morning.

To find the weekly homework Tic-Tac-Toe: Go to the Lakeway Elementary website click

Teacher websites click 1st Grade click the Homework link. Print out the weekly homework from here. Glue the

problems and show work in the Homework Spiral. In addition to completing the Tic-Tac-Toe

homework, students will log-in to Raz-Kids for at least 10 minutes four nights a week. Their log-in information is taped to the inside cover of their homework spirals.

Homework

Whole class: We are working together to earn class compliments, which result in fun activities and rewards on which the class votes. Each time we get a compliment from a teacher or adult, we earn one point/tally. When Mr. Hicks or Ms. Kellner compliments our class, we earn two points/tallies! We are working to earn 20 compliments, and when we do, we will vote for a fun activity or reward!

Table teams: Table groups also receive points/tallies for following directions quickly and working cooperatively and with kindness. Once the team reaches 15 points/tallies, the table team gets to decide on a special activity or reward!

Individuals: Individual students earn points on a individual punch card for making good choices. Twenty punches fills the card, and once it is full, they can choose from rewards such as bring a favorite stuffed animal to school, wear slippers in class, switch seats for the day, write in pen, use stickers, and many more!

Calendar: A stamp, sticker, or happy face will be placed on the behavior calendar square each day in the red Daily Take Home Folder for making good choices. If we discussed a choice, and I need to inform you of it, I will write in the box for that day, call, or send you an email.
