Position: SHEQ Coordinator – Site based Darwin, NT

Large independent petroleum import and distribution terminal located in East Arm, Berrimah, NT– close proximity to Darwin City. With MR access for the full spectrum of clean petroleum products and providing optimal ship discharge and truck loading facilities servicing the Darwin area and regional Northern Territory. Products include: jet fuel, Avgas, petroleum products, sulphuric acid, chemicals, and vegetable oils. Services include: sampling, blending, dedicated systems, weighing, bulk liquid import/export, for import / export / distribution, industrial / Cc siting, biofuel. 21 tanks, 173,583 capacity.

Responsibilities: Reviewing system compliance and implementation, gap analysis. Monthly reporting, database reporting and delegating action close out, incident reporting and investigation, legislative compliance assessment, identify and implementation of systemic failings and corrective actions, management reporting, culture development, onsite coaching and development. Dec ’14 – April ‘15 GE – Power & Water Woleebee, QCLNG

Position: Lead Health & Safety Advisor / Permit Coordinator – Site based Darling Downs, Qld

Laing O’Rourke & GE Joint Venture (GELOR); commissioning of the Northern Water Treatment Plant for QGC as part of the upstream development of the QCLNG project in Queensland. The project includes the delivery of all related infrastructure associated with QGC’s northern gas fields. This is one of the largest water plants in Australia. Delivery, transfer and bulk chemical storage, dangerous goods and hazardous substances management.

Aug ’14 – Dec ‘14 Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO) - Army Aviation Systems Branch

Position: Strategic Safety Advisor Based at - Victoria Barracks, Brisbane, Qld

The DMO is part of the Department of Defence, it is to meet the Australian Defence Force’s military equipment and supply requirements as identified by Defence and approved by Government. The Army Aviation Systems (AAS) Branch is responsible for managing the acquisition and through-life sustainment of Army helicopters and tactical UAV and oversees three Project Offices and four Sustainment Organisations.

AAS Branch includes an Executive and Support element located at Victoria Barracks Brisbane QLD.

Feb ’13 – Nov ‘13 Murphy, Pipe & Civil HV, Water, Oil & Gas Trunklines QCLNG

Position: Health & Safety Advisor – Site based Darling Downs, Qld $460m+ contract for the construction phase of the QCLNG Upstream Trunklines South Project.

Murphy Pipe and Civil (MPC) was contracted by QGC to construct a 118km mild steel concrete lined (MSCL) water pipeline and a 168km coated steel gas pipeline, for the coal seam gas company's QCLNG Trunklines Project.

Pipeline diameters ranged between Ø350mm - Ø960mm with midline isolation valves, pig traps and large retention tie-ins included in the scope of works. The project scope also included the installation of more than 680km of cabling in the form of fibre optic cable and high voltage zinc ribbon.

The gas pipelines connect QGC's field compressor station to the central processing plant, with the water pipeline transporting production water from gas hubs to QGC's Water Treatment Plants.

The scope of work forms a component to the overall QCLNG project where coal seam gas will be transported from QGC’s processing facilities in southern Queensland to a liquefaction plant on Curtis Island, near Gladstone.

MPC also constructed and managed a 600 person camp to accommodate the project's workforce, I overseen the construction of the camp, HV and pipeline installation and Subcontractor mobilisation and management.

Nov ’12 – Feb ‘13 Downer EDI Construct/Erect High Voltage Power lines, Stringing with Helicopter

Position: Lead Health & Safety Advisor – Site based Newman, WA

Works included the install and construct of 220 kV electricity transmission line to connect the new Hope Downs 4 mine to the existing Hope Downs 1 infrastructure. The Hope Downs 4 mine was a joint venture between Rio and Hancock Prospecting. The power project was built and is operated by Rio Tinto. The rail and power project was worth over $400 million. A helicopter was used to string conductor (wire) for the transmission lines. An aerial utility contractor was hired during the conductor installation phase.

Aug ’12 – Nov ‘12 Doric Group Construction / Mining RGP6a Newman, WA

Position: Health & Safety Advisor – Site based

$166 million contract to provide bulk earthworks, drainage and concrete civil structures, road works and buried services for BHP Billiton Iron Ore’s Jimblebar mine near Newman in Western Australia.

Aug ’11 – Dec ‘11 McConnell Dowell Gold Coast Rapid Transit Project - Rail Qld

Position: Health & Safety Coordinator – Site based

Working in partnership with the State and Federal Government and Gold Coast City Council, GoldLinQ delivered the $1 billion world-class public transport system. McConnell Dowell and Bombardier Transport Joint Venture were the design, construct and delivery division within the GoldLinQ consortium. McConnell Dowell’s contribution to the works comprised of 13 km of track, 16 stations, track works, road works, bridges, buildings, 14 vehicles and a maintenance depot. The works consisted of early and enabling works such as road widening, relocation of public utilities, reinstatement of driveways, fencing, car parks and construction of a station shell at the Gold Coast University Hospital. Work on the Griffith University Hospital was built below ground level and features open sides and two platforms that provide access to Griffith University Hospital. A low impact construction methodology was used, extensive and innovative traffic management strategy, professional consultation, designing and constructing tracks and vertical grades, relocating existing underground services in heavy populated locations throughout the Gold Coast. Strategic communication was formed with the community, by providing a consistent point of contact for stakeholders and community members. Many initiatives were developed and supported throughout the project to build support within the local community and maximise local industry participation.

Jan ‘11 – Aug ‘11 Balfour Beatty Rail Sydney, NSW

Position: HSEQ Consultant – Corporate office based Being one of the world's leading fixed rail infrastructure contractors, delivering major multi-disciplinary projects, track work, electrification, power supply, signalling, specialist plant, track systems and components and maintenance services. They are recognised leaders in modern rail engineering as well as a specialist in operations and management. Having planned, designed and managed the construction of thousands of miles of railway road systems worldwide.

Tasks included:

Position: Business Systems Coordinator – Corporate office based Macmahon Rail is engaged in the construction and project management of large and small rail infrastructure projects in Australia. The company constructs urban rail and tram systems, heavy haul railways, and regional rail projects, as well as supporting infrastructure, including rail terminals, depots, and other rail facilities. Its services include alliance management, track construction, track rehabilitation and maintenance, track asset management, and civil infrastructure construction services; procurement, signaling and communication, maintenance, and services for level crossing structures; sleepering, track construction, placement and maintenance. Macmahon / MVM Rail was engaged in the construction and project management of the Port Hedland to Jimblebar rail infrastructure, including pre-site mobilisation, site establishment, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning and demobilisation. Provision of hi-rail vehicles, plant and equipment, non-destructive digging, worksite supervision and rail construction labour. Task management included: mobile plant operations, civil works, manual labour, aluminothermic welding, flash butt welding and concrete track construction, track installation, ballast install, alignment of track, possession control & protocol, security management, worksite protection, construct stations & platforms.

Oct ’07 – Jun ’08 Laing O’Rourke Transport Interchange Hub - Brisbane, Qld

Position: HSE Supervisor – Site based $56 million bus depot facility at Willawong, in Brisbane’s south-west. The bus depot provides bus parking, maintenance and refuelling facilities for up to one-fifth (200) of all Brisbane Transport buses. Built on a contaminated and uncontrolled landfill site within a difficult remediated waste precinct with EPA and City Council strict environmental guidelines and requirements in place. The site had to be reengineered and stabilised and building piled, new road and infrastructure constructed (including reticulated compressed natural gas supply. With the use of materials that can be recycled and/or is made from recycled material. Major water management systems built.

Apr ’07 – Oct ’07 Sinclair Knight & Merz / Fluor MPDJV RGP 3 / 4 Newman, WA

Position: Health & Safety Advisor – Site based MPDJV, is a 50/50 joint venture between Fluor Australia Pty Ltd. and Sinclair Knight Merz.

$1.8 billion construction of BHP Billiton RGP 3 Newman Hub Ammonium Nitrate Storage Facility, BHPB Whaleback Sample Laboratory, Kurra Village Accommodati9n / Camp Upgrade-stage 4 and Newman Hub Early Works: bulk earthworks and demolition and remediation works.

Aug ’06 – Mar ’07 Sinclair Knight & Merz Brisbane/Clermont Coal Mine, Qld

Position: Health & Safety Advisor – Corporate office & site based

EPCM for Rio Tinto’s 12 mtpa, $950 million Clermont thermal coal mine project in central Queensland. It is an open cut truck and shovel operation, with an in-pit crushing and conveying system.

Coal is transported by a 13.3 kilometre conveyor to the existing production stockyards, stacker/reclaimers and train load out facilities at the Blair Athol mine, situated to the north west of Clermont.

Working for SKM and in partnership with Rio Tinto Coal Australia teams to migrate project management systems to site for the Clermont Coal Mine project. The work was acknowledged by the project's senior site manager as being "an unmitigated success." Including rollout / training of the systems to the EPCM project management staff on site.

Jan ’06 – Aug ’06 Monadelphous Engineering MPDJV RGP 2 / 3 Port Hedland, WA

Position: Health & Safety Advisor – Site based

BHP Billiton Iron Ore Rapid Growth Project 2. The contract was for structural and mechanical works at the Nelson Point and Finucane Island facilities in Port Hedland. Valued at $65 million. Multidisciplinary construction management and execution, vertical construction packages including civil and electrical, fabrication and installation of structural steel, overland conveyors, tankage, mechanical works and process equipment and piping, modularisation and off-site pre-assembly, plant commissioning, demolition and remediation works.

Oct ’04 – Oct’05 Connell Hatch / BMA Blackwater Mine, Qld

Position: Health & Safety Advisor – Site based

Blackwater is one of BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance's (BMA) largest open-cut mines, producing almost 14 million tonnes of coking and thermal coal a year. To replace three existing coal handling and preparation plants (CHPP) with one new facility, BMA engaged Aurecon Hatch's engineering, commissioning and project management services.

The scope of works included: Provision of project management procedures and processes, especially safety

and quality management, but also cost control and schedule monitoring

Engineering design of the earthworks for the new plant and other infrastructure (including office, administration facilities, workshop, laboratory, and associated utilities), and design for wash plant upgrade and conveyors. Water services drafting and design for mine operations. CHPP contractor, Barclay Mowlem (Laing O’Rourke), were contracted for the construction phase and the integrated owner’s team continued to commission and complete the works. Aurecon Hatch provided experienced coal preparation engineers to lead commissioning of the CPP and train BMA operators in the practical aspects of operating their new plant

May ’04 – Oct ’04 Leighton Contractors G3 Project: Alcan Gove, NT

Position: Health & Safety Advisor/Rehabilitation Coordinator – Corporate office & site based

Major expansion of the Gove Alumina Refinery. The $2.3 billion Alcan Gove Third Stage Expansion Project, known as'G3', designed to increase production capacity from 2.0 to 3.8 million tonnes per annum.

Mar ’03 – Mar ’04 Telstra (NDC) Next G Telecommunications Projects Brisbane, Qld

Position: Health & Safety Co-ordinator / Self Assessor (Telstra Auditor)

NDC provided specific design and construction services and Subcontractor management to Telstra, managing major and critical infrastructure construction projects, including Australia's fibre-optic network and builds of the main telecom infrastructure across Australia. Installation of the optic fibre cables included: mobile plant operations, trenching, padding and backfill crews, cable jointing and integrity testing.

Design I was tasked with creating & modifying tower and pole SRF designs and data in Radpro, Microsoft Visio & Canrad.

Mar ’02 – Mar ’03 Leighton Contractors Stanwell Magnesium Project Brisbane, Qld

Position: Health & Safety / Quality Support – Corporate office & site based

As Principal Contractor for the $1.5 Billion Stanwell Magnesium Smelter in Rockhampton, we were responsible for the project’s delivery, including the design, engineering, procurement and construction of the facility. Leighton headed an alliance that included a number of world-leading design and contracting companies.

As a consequence of AMC's financing difficulties, the project was halted in June 2003 and AMC and Leighton Contractors formed a joint venture to preserve value and explore opportunities for future development. Tasks included: Development and implementation of the project HSEQ management systems.
