Friday- Literacy • Well done on completing your sentences

this week! • As we have no sentences on a Friday,

here is your task for today… • Can you draw a line under all the

adjectives in your sentences? • Remember, adjectives are describing

words like big, enormous, soft, charming etc.

• If you have no adjectives, write some into your sentences to make them better.

Friday- Literacy

C. Ormsby (Presentation Primary School)

• Today we are going to continue looking at writing a recount.

• Have a read of this again to remind yourself... • When we write a recount, we write about something

that has happened in the past. • Can you think of some more examples of recounts? (a

birthday party, holidays, a trip to the park etc.)

There are different parts to a recount- 1. Title 2. Orientation (setting)- who, what, where, when, why 3. Sequence of Events- what happened in order 4. Personal comment- What do you think about what

happened Have a look at this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2EQlclHN1s&t=18s

Friday- Literacy

C. Ormsby (Presentation Primary School)

So far, we have learned that recounts have these things: 1. Recounts are about something that has happened in

the past. 2. Recounts have a title, setting, events and personal

comment. 3. Recounts have ‘time’ words e.g. first, after that,

then etc. 4. Recounts have verbs (doing words) in the past tense

ie. “I walked” rather than “I walk”.
