Modern and Classical Language Pathways
Students at Central can take up to 4 years of each Modern/Classical Language. Spanish French German Latin

Modern and Classical Languages Foreign Language is not required for
high school graduation.
Most 4-year colleges/universities require 2-3 years of the same language.
Check college websites for additional information and opportunities.
Students may work to take the AP exam in Foreign Language.

Dual Enrollment Move on When Ready
The MOWR program is an opportunity for qualified high school students to earn college credits.
The student is “jointly” enrolled in high school and in college. The student can be a full time or part time college student.
The student earns college credits as well as high school credits needed for graduation.

MOWR Requirements to Participate
All students attending eligible public or private high schools or a home student program
Classified 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th graders
No residency or citizenship requirement
Must be admitted to postsecondary institution
Cannot have graduated alreadyAdvisement form signed by student
and parentEligible for summer studyCan be denied participation for
violation of secondary or postsecondary rules.

Students must have a 3.0 in academic courses

AP classes are weighted (10 points added to final grade). HOPE subtracts the 10, converts the grade to the 4.0 scale and adds 0.5. HOPE does not exceed 4.0 per grade.
HOPE ScholarshipHOPE requires that students complete 4
rigorous courses during high school: ChemistryPhysicsAlgebra IIAP courses
HOPE is not determined by the local high school.
HOPE GPA is determined by the Georgia Student Finance Commission.
Students must be a Georgia resident and have U.S. citizenship or eligible non-Citizen (see website)
HOPE Scholarship & Grant $$ Public Colleges in Georgia – HOPE
Scholarship pays a portion of tuition (roughly 85%).
Eligible Private Colleges in Georgia – HOPE Scholarship pays a portion of tuition (roughly $4,350/year currently).
Technical Colleges in Georgia – HOPE Grant pays a portion of tuition for certificate and diploma programs regardless of GPA.
Zell Miller ScholarshipStudents must have a 3.7 average in

on math and verbal portions of the SAT or at least a 26 composite score on the ACT (in one test administration)
Zell Miller Scholarship Public Colleges in Georgia – The Zell
Miller Scholarship pays all tuition.
