MSc Conservation of the Historic Environment

If conservation is your profession, your passion, or both, the MSc Conservation of the Historic Environment will provide the specialist knowledge and practical skills to further your interests and career in this highly important field.
Led by conservation specialist Henry Russell OBE
Henry Russell is a chartered surveyor who specialises in conservation. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Society of Antiquaries and is a member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBS). Among his numerous roles, he is well known as a leading academic and an advisor in conservation policy. Henry also edits the Journal of Architectural Conservation.
A Masters programme that works around you
The programme is part-time so you’ll be able to continue with your employment while studying. Modules run over 3 – 4 days at our Greenlands Campus.
Each module can also be taken as a standalone Continuing Professional Development (CPD) course.

The MSc Conservation of the Historic Environment is a modular programme. Each module draws upon the specialist knowledge and skills of our expert faculty members.
You will study three core modules to gain the essential knowledge and competencies you need as well as a completing a dissertation. These form thefoundationofyourqualification.From this foundation you can then tailor your Masters according to your interests or nature of your career by selecting optional modules.

KEy FACTS
Duration: Flexible block release over 2–6 years
Entry requirements: • Agoodfirstorsecondclass
degree from a UK university, or the equivalent from an internationally-recognised university
• Alternatively,fiveyears’relevant practical experience plus a demonstrable practical conservation skill will be considered on an exceptional basis
• It is also possible to take individual modules as part of a Continuing Professional Development programme.
Fees: Fees are set each year and charged per module. £1,100 per module for 2015/16.
Funding: Henley Business School has an arrangement with Santander to assist with funding for participants on part-time programmes who are studying whilst continuing in employment.
