Brothers and Sisters: Pray for us; we are sure that we have a clear conscience, desiring to act honorably in all

things. I urge you all the more to do this, so that I may be restored to you very soon. Now may the God of peace, who brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, make you complete in everything good so that you may do his will, working among us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, bear with my word of exhortation, for I have written to you briefly. I want you to know that our brother Timothy has been set free; and if he comes in time, he will be with me when I see you. Those from Italy send you greetings. Grace be with all of you.

Gospel Reading

John 21: 1 - 14

The Apostle John says: Jesus showed himself again to the disciples by the Sea of Tiberias; and he showed

himself in this way. Gathered there together were Simon Peter, Thomas called the Twin, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples. Simon Peter said to them," I am going fishing.” They said to him, “We will go with you.” They went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing. Just after daybreak, Jesus stood on the beach; but the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. Jesus said to them, “Children, you have no fish, have you?” They answered him, “No.” He said to them, “Cast the net to the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast it, and now they were not able to haul it in because there were so many fish. That disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on some clothes, for he was naked, and jumped into the sea. But the other disciples came in the boat, dragging the net full of fish, for they were not far from the land, only about a hundred yards off. When they had gone ashore, they saw a charcoal fire there, with fish on it, and bread. Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish that you have just caught.” So Simon Peter went aboard and hauled the net ashore, full of large fish, a hundred fifty-three of them; and though there were so many, the net was not torn. Jesus said to them, “Come and have breakfast.” Now none of the disciples dared to ask him, “Who are you?” because they knew it was the Lord. Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish. This was now the third time that Jesus appeared to the disciples after he was raised from the dead.

We are very grateful to all those who willingly gathered to decorate during Holy Week and Easter.

Also, we recognize their dedication for taking down the tomb and making our Sanctuary once again worthy and deserving of our Sunday worship. We ask the Good Lord to bless their hands, time,

energy and talents for their care and warmth extended towards the Church.

Saturday, May 14, 2016 starting @ 6:00 PM Cost: Cost: Cost: Cost: FREEFREEFREEFREE (Couples are asked to bring an appetizer, entrée, or dessert)

All married couples of Saint Anthony's are cordially invited to a very special Couples Evening Liturgy, Renewal of Vows and Dinner get-together, honoring the wonderful sacrament of Marriage. Deacon John Pierce will be the homilist. A sit-down dinner will follow the Liturgy in the hall. All married couples, re-gardless of where you were married, are encouraged to attend. More in-formation about this event will be forthcoming in our upcoming bulletins. This event is for adults only (please leave your children at home).

Many of you know that Sister Raghida has been diligently working on making the robes for First Holy

Communion. On Sunday, April 24th during both the 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM Divine Liturgies, the

custom-made robes will be Consecrated to give them a spiritual meaning for our children to wear

during the ceremony as they receive Christ for the first time. The robes will remain in the Church to be

used every year for this event. We invite all parents to be present at the Consecration of these robes.

A group of faithful people have been meeting every Thursday for prayers. These individuals would like to invite you to join them in praying the Rosary and other devotions. The prayer gathering takes place every Thursday evening at 7:00 PM in the Chapel. Please feel free to join this group, enrich your spirituality and appreciate the graces bestowed upon us by our Heavenly Father.

Per directive of the Eparchy, there will be a Second Collection taken next

weekend, April 23rd and 24th. The Catholic Home Mission of the United

States have established a special collection for missionary efforts being made

in the USA. Our Eparchy, which is “Missionary” by nature, has received much financial help from this effort.

Now, we are able to help others in return. Your contribution is greatly appreciated.

You Can Run, But You Can't Hide

The Gospel of this week remind us of the two great mysteries: life and death. The Apostles can do nothing of worth on their own - not even catch a fish, and with gentleness the Lord reminds them that with him, they can do the impossible. Two names stand out above the rest: Peter and Thomas. Both men are present and mentioned by name. Interesting. After all, Peter denied the Lord three times and Thomas did not believe in his resurrection. And yet, both are there. Both are present. Both are in need of guidance and mercy. Who gives it to them but the one who suffered for them. "The stone rejected by the builders has become the cornerstone." This is our history too. We tend to lock ourselves up in our own little world (room), just like the Apostles did, and only later do we come to realize that there is someone missing - the Lord. Ah yes, the Lord will not allow any barriers to get in his way. He will reveal himself, one way or another, and not allow any of his sheep to wander too far off. This is a good Shepherd. This is a good Father and Mother. Who are we kidding! This is a God who loves! This is a God who always reveals himself. It is time for us to grow up and get ready for graduation.
