D4 Energy designs and manufactures alternative energy systems and technologies that convert carbon based feedstock (MSW, Tires, Biomass, Sewer Sludge, etc.) into energy.

We provide modular, mobile waste-to-energy systems. Each energy node is configured to produce 1.25MW of power. Up to 200 of our units can be assembled on-site to provide up to 250MW of energy.

The D4 Energy devolatization system processes carbon-based feedstock in extreme heat within a continuous closed loop system. The feedstock is broken down at a molecular level and the high quality 700 – 750 BTU gas is then produced which can be used to generate power or go directly to local industries for their heating and manufacturing needs.

The system has virtually no emissions due to the patented devolatization process and is self-sustaining, using less than 10% of the produced power to operate the entire system. D4 Energy’s closed loop process is nonpressurized and operates at no more than two atmospheres. This greatly reduces the hazards associated with pressurized gas systems and in turn, significantly reduces the safety zones required by other pressurized gases.

D4 proprietary and innovative technology is built upon the proven technologies of Pyrolysis (devolatization in an inert atmosphere) and hydropyrolysis (devolatization in a hydrogen rich atmosphere). We have applied 21st century knowledge in material science, electronic engineering, chemical engineering, and fluid dynamics to the problem of achieving the maximum value from MSW and other renewable sources with minimal environmental impact.

The gas product produced in the D4 unit provides the energy required for the thermal conversion of the feedstock and provides an export gas stream to power gas engine generators, or gas turbines, or the gas can be use for industrial purposes.

The carbon product produced by the D4 Energy process can be used for numerous applications depending on the region of the world such as soil amendment, fuel sources, fillers for rubber and plastic applications, etc.
