Pastor Jim Price was born in 1965 in San Diego, CA, the middle child of five. In 1972 he and his siblings moved with their parents, Norman and Bar-bara, to West Africa, where his parents served with Lutheran Bible Transla-tors and Wycliff Bible Translators in the countries of Ghana and Nigeria.

Dear Mt. Calvary,

Thank you for the support the church has provided for our MOPS group this year. We appreci-

ate the resources the church extends to us in helping to make our program a success. It is a priv-

ilege to serve alongside a church that recognizes the unique needs of the moms in our commu-

nity.

As we wrap-up our current MOPS season, I would like to share with you the ways in which

MOPS has reached the families of our community. Below are some details about our member-

ship, service activities and some feedback from our members.

Approximately 21 moms are registered in our MOPS group

Over 30 children and preschoolers attend our MOPS Kids program and have the opportunity to

learn Bible truths and be introduced to Jesus

MOPS serves as a stepping-stone for many moms to become part of a church family

Five women served in leadership roles and served our moms and their families through prayer,

devotions/testimonies, coordination of speakers, presentations and activities

We offer a warm and welcoming environment to moms regardless of faith, background, or

church membership. Because of this, we have the opportunity to share our own stories of faith

and watch other moms come to faith or strengthen their relationship with Christ. Our loving

environment, caring leaders and mentors and the topics we discuss around our tables helps each

woman learn more about herself and each other.

This is what a few MOPS members had to say about our group when asked what they would

tell a mom in our community who asked what MOPS is all about:

MOPS is a wonderful group that allows moms to connect, offers childcare for the children, and

educates mothers on topics that will allow her to become better at the most important occupa-

tion.

It’s a fantastic opportunity for moms who stay home to meet and interact, share their experienc-

es and get mutual support.

Uplifting, worth it!

Great way to cope with being a mom

This group has been a tremendous blessing to me! I look forward to what’s to come!

We would like to especially thank volunteers from our church including Sharon Jensen, Meri

Thompson and Jeannie Merritt, as well as Alice, Paul and Gary for their support. We would

also like to extend our appreciation and thanks to the LWML for their support of our group. We

couldn’t do it without you!

Page 6: MT CALVARY CONNECTION€¦ · ti onf rmh eS ay wM sDv c 195,l gp du-The call to serve as pastor of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Waco, TX came in 1997. A warm and generous congregation,

Our affiliation with MOPS International has provided us valuable material to use in our meet-

ings, member benefits and leadership training. Partnering with MOPS International has pro-

vided us the resources we need to share Jesus with the moms who come to our group.

If you’d like to find out more about the MOPS International theme for our next year of MOPS or see any of the materials MOPS provides, please visit mops.org/freeindeed or lead-ers.mops.org/preview.

Thank you for your commitment to MOPS. We are grateful to you and pray along with you that women, children and families will be transformed this year through our church and our MOPS ministry.

Sincerely,

Callie McDiffett

Wamego MOPS Coordinator
