Once upon a time there was a class of grade 1 and 2 students who were taught by a princess named Ms. Pietzsch in her castle called Mount Pleasant Elementary School. Each one of her royal students worked day and night with their fairy godmothers and godfather, volunteer mentors from the Writers’ Exchange, to write and illustrate fairy tales for their highness. She was so impressed with their work that she ordered the Writers’ Exchange fairies to publish the stories in the very book that you are holding in your hands. To experience these wonderful fairy tales, which are much more whimsical than this introduction, read on!

Once upon a time in a faraway land there was a prince named Dash who was captured by an evil knight who was very mean. The black knight made Dash do every chore there was to do, including taking out the trash. The knight treated Dash like his servant. Dash was so tired of doing all the chores that he ran to his room in the palace and spent his entire day frowning under his pillow. A warlock appeared and shifted his wand back and forth while saying, “Abracadabra abracazam!” Dash was teleported out of the palace. He had just come out of the teleportation portal. The black knight jumped through the window. The knight was mad, very, very mad. He brought out his sword and pointed it at Dash. As quickly as possible, the warlock appeared and turned the black knight into a frog. The black knight tried to say, “Turn me back into a knight,” but he coughed up a “Ribbit!” Then the warlock disappeared and Dash ran miles through the land and they all lived happily ever after.

Once upon a time there was a little fairy princess named Rosy and she had a problem. There was a lion that wanted to destroy the fairies’ land, but he never made a plan to get into the fairy princesses’ castle. Then the lion made a plan, then went to get something. When he came back he forgot his plan. The fairy was happy but she knew the lion would come up with a new plan so she had to think fast. She didn’t come up with a plan until she saw her friend named Bunny. She thought she could ask him but he did not think of anything either. He said he knew who could stop the lion, the powerful wizard, and the wizard told them how to stop the lion. He said, “Take this potion and when the lion is not looking, carefully pour it on him. Then he will turn good.” Then the fairy went to the lion’s cave. The lion was sleeping, so it was easy. She gently dropped some on him. He woke up, and the lion was nice! From now on, he was the nicest lion and they lived happily ever after.

Once upon a time there was a pretty and nice princess, and one fairy and a jaguar. They lived in a castle. Then a witch came along and she saw the pretty princess and she took out her wand. Then she said, “Abracadabra! Make her not pretty now!” The princess sat down and cried all night. Then the fairy came and everything was back to normal. Then the witch and the fairy had a fight. Then they solved the problem and everything was back to normal. Then the witch came along. “What are you doing?” she said. “Making everything back to normal,” said the fairy. “Don’t do that!” Then the fairy said, “Sorry, Witch.” Then the witch said, “That’s OK.” Then they had tea all night outside.

Once upon a time there was a family in a castle. They were so happy, but one day the princess heard a voice. She ran down the road and she saw a guy with a wand, and ran to the castle to call for help from the king. The king went to the guy, who was a bad fairy. The bad fairy wanted to turn the king into an evil king, so he waved his wand and suddenly the king turned mean. He went to the castle and tried to kill the princess and the queen because he didn’t know that they were his family. Soon a good fairy appeared to try to kill the bad fairy. The fairy waved her wand but it didn’t work, so she tried to scream and it worked! The king asked, “What happened?” and the queen said, “You tried to kill us.” The king felt sorry and they said, “It’s okay,” and they lived happily ever after.

She put a spell so that the jaguar couldn’t move his legs. But the spell did not work! The second spell was trying to make the jaguar’s mouth close. But it did not work, so she tried the last spell. She tried to turn the jaguar into a frog. But the spell did not work. The next day the angel had an idea. She said to the jaguar, “Excuse me, Mr. Jaguar. Instead of catching me, would you like to come to my tea party?” The jaguar said yes, so the angel and the jaguar had a tea party and they lived happily ever after.

I will give you some things. First I need to give one fancy car.” The poor boy looked down. The fairy godfather gave him a nice suit. “Bye bye,” said the boy. “Wait,” said the fairy godfather, “you have to come back at midnight.” “OK!” said the boy. The woods had trees and flowers, and the shark wanted to eat the people and the shark said, “I want to eat all of the people.” The angel said, “That is not good,” so the angel had wings. So she flew, so the shark couldn’t eat the angel. So the shark jumped a lot of times. The shark was tired of jumping so he took a rest. So the angel stopped flying. When the shark was done resting, the shark was so mad. He was so hungry. The angel was a good angel so she fed the shark. The shark was full, but he didn’t say thank you. He still wanted to eat people so the angel flew and used her magic, but the shark still wanted to eat people. He wanted to eat the angel so Shark tried to go to the sand but he didn’t want to go to the sand because he might be dead. So the angel flew. So the shark jumped so much! He was so tired and he was not going to give up until he ate people or fish, he said to the angel. So the angel gave a lot of fish. The shark was very full. The shark didn’t want to eat Angel and people anymore. But the shark was kidding! He said to the angel, “I was kidding!” The Angel said, “You have to stop doing these things!” The shark said, “No.” And the angel said, “Please stop.” The shark still said no.
