Vivekananda Institute of Biotechnology (VIB), a branch unit of SriRamkrishna Ashram, Nimpith has been working in sundarbans with a mission

Objectives of the study


ü

To validate a model of technology delivery system in this rural area.üTo minimize the cost of cultivation and to increase the production by

using bio fertilizer, bio & botanical pesticides, vermicompost.

üAwareness camp of organic based farming

üCommercial production of Vermicompost and thereby marketing or

distribute it to the market or to the farmers through different channels as a

source of income.

üTo discover the scope of employment generation through KSK for rural

unemployed youths.

üTo prepare the potential business plan for KSK.

Who is the KSK?

ü KSK is a person who organizes and manages a business by

undertaking risk for the sake of profit.

ü A KSK also known as a prime mover who is a reliable resource

of providing information and advice to farmers’, making them

aware of the bio fertilizer products .

ü VIB always desire that their KSK to be connected with the

farmers for not only to earn profit but also earn faith and

recognition, which ultimately improves rural farming

community.

Analysis

As per the study, KSK conducts different types of activity such as agri

inputs and financial services to the farmer. In the last 1.5 years they are unable

to make good profit by the selling of bio fertilizer. But now they can look

forward to a better future with the help of Business Correspondents and SBI

KIOSk banking. They are more interested in the activity of customer service

provider(CSP) rather than Krisi sampad karmi(KSK).

Recommendation

ü

To arrange awareness camp on regular basis.

ü To develop a system for proper management of organization.

ü All the KSK should submitted the report weekly basis.

ü Regular running of KSK enterprise.

ü Farmer training schedule before cropping season.

ü Update the data base of the farmer on regular basis

ü Maintain the proper channel of supply the VIB products to

farmers.
