    INDUSTRIAL

    STATION WRECKAGE

    GENERAL CONSTRUCTION NOTESTools Required:

Scalpel or sharp-bladed hobby knifeMetal ruler or straight-edgeCutting surface - a self-healing cutting mat

is recommended, but a sheet of corrugatedcardboard or even heavy poster board will workas well.

Glue - white glue, glue stick or wax stick.Double sided cellophane tape also works well.

Rubber cement can be used, but will sometimesstain the cardstock or discolor colored inks andcause them to run.

A Note About Using White GlueWhite glue contains mostly water. Too much

glue may cause warping. Warping may causethe parts not to fit together correctly. If youuse white glue, apply a very thin coat on theglue tabs - the thinner the better. You can use acotton swab or your finger to spread the gluethin. Remember to keep a damp paper towelhandy to remove any excess glue from yourfingers before assembly.

IMPORTANT! PLEASE NOTE:Many of these pieces in this set have been

marked with a series of grey lines to indicatewhere to fold. In most cases the grey line willappear at the edges of the pieces and not onthe themselves. It is strongly recommendedthat all score lines be made before the pieceis cut from the page. In most every case thegrey line will appear at the top and bottom of aline that needs to be scored. Line up your ruler

along these grey lines so it is even and scoreacross the body of the section you are intending

    to construct.

The contents of this package have beenspecifically designed to be used the BudgetBattlefield Game or any tabletop wargamingsystem that uses 25-30mm miniatures. As mostwargaming systems use a measuring systemand not a grid system for movement, none ofthe base tiles have been marked out with a 1"grid. If you wish to use these pieces for systemsthat use a 1" grid system for movement, it isrecommended that a grid can be drawn out onthe tiles before assembling by using a ball pointpen or permanent felt tipped pen before final

    assembly.

It should also be pointed out that while thesepieces were designed to be printed on 110#cardstock (available at your local office supplystore), lighter cardstock will work just as well.It is recommended, however, that the bases beglued to a heaver cardstock to help support thebuildings and add durability to the finishedmodels. Bases can be glued to heavy chipboard, foamcore, illustration board or any other typeof heavy material as desired.

    DISCLAIMER

The designer has made every effort to makesure that all parts fit together properly, butsometimes tolerances are tight and mistakesdo happen. Test fit all pieces before applyingglue. Some trimming may be required.

CONSTRUCTING THE STAND-UPSCut out each stand-up so that each piece has

a front image, a back image and a base panelon either end. Fold the stand-up in the middleand fold the two base panels in. Glue one basepanel on top of the other to form a triangleshape.

CONSTRUCTING THE BUILDINGThe building in this set will consist of a base

tile and two wall sections. Other pieces can beadded on or left out as desired. Both of the wallsections will assemble the same way. Cut outeach wall section from the printed page alongthe black outside line. This will leave theprinted image of the walls in a block. Note thatthe glue tabs along the bottoms of the outsidesections will be outside this block. Score alongthe grey horizontal line and fold the piece in

The finished building on its base andplacement of the included props.

half to create a front and back side. Glue thetwo sides together. Placing the piece on a flatsurface, such as a tabletop, and placing severalbooks on top while drying will insure that thepanels dry flat. A piece of wax paper will keepany glue that seeps out from between the twopanels from drying on the tabletop or bookweights. Depending on the weather (wet or

humid conditions can effect drying time),several hours or overnight may be required toinsure that the pieces are completely dry. When dry, cut out all of the white areas aroundthe wall sections. The outline need not befollowed exactly and more detail in the cut-outwill enhance the effect. Be sure to cut out thedoorway section at this time.

After attaching the base to a heaviercardstock (if desired) attach the wall sectionsas follows. Fold the front wall section at thefold line between the two columns and fold upthe tabs along the bottom edges. Note: Be sure

to cut between the two glue tabs on the frontwall sections.Apply glue to the bottom of the lower tabs

and set the wall in place. The front dooropening will line up with the broken walkwayat the front of the base and the side wall willfold around the corner. Make sure that theinside wall is flush against the 1" square floortexture on the base. When dry, the second wallcan be added. Again, make sure that the twoglue tabs at the bottom of the second wallsection are cut apart. The glue tab to the rightof the outside will glue to the edge of the frontwall that is now attached to the base. The

On the second page of this set are severalpieces that can be build and placed on the modelas desired. To construct the air conditioningunit, score as indicated and cut out. Fold inthe two side panels and fold the glue tabs atthe top down. Glue these tabs to the inside ofthe top section. When dry, fold in the remainingglue tabs. The unit can be placed as shown inthe photograph. To assemble the vent pipe, foldinto a box shape and glue the tab to the insideof the front wall. Note: As shown in thephotograph, the inside of the vent pipe shouldbe colored black with a water based marker orother technique as you desire. When dry, foldup the two tabs along the bottom edge, applyglue to these tabs and to the back panel section, about halfway up, and attach to the top of theair conditioning unit as well as the wall.

To construct the control panels, score and cutout as indicated. Fold down the top instrumentpanel and fold down the two tabs at the edges.Apply glue to these tabs and glue them to theside walls. Fold in the two tabs at the backedges and glue to the inside walls. Theinstrument panels can be placed as desired.

The concrete slab, located in the upper rightcorner of Page Three, is scored and cut out asindicated. Fold down all side panels and foldin all glue tabs. Glue the tabs to the inside ofthe slab, matching any angles on the piece asyou go. When dry, apply glue to the remainingtabs and fold down the back panel in place. When finished, this piece can be placed as

desired in or around the building. The Energy Column, on Page Four, is a

simple prop that can be placed as desired in oraround the building. It will assemble like thewall sections given above. When dry, cut outby following the black area around the piece oras close as desired. Make a cut at the base ofthe Energy Column along the grey line. Thesecond part of the base will assemble as a twosided piece as well. When dry, cut out and makea cut along the grey line. For final assembly, slide the base into the bottom of the EnergyColumn until the piece stands on its own. The

cement hex base is cut out and the Column canbe placed on top.

To assemble the Cargo Pod, score and cut outas indicated. Note that there are two grey linesalong the panel that the hex shaped ends areattached to. These lines will need to be scored. Also note that the glue tabs at the bottoms ofthe hex shaped ends will need to be cut awayfrom the end panels (not the rectangularpanels) in order for the piece to fold correctly. For final assembly, fold up the two end panels

second panel of this wall (the one with thewindow in it) will fold out and attach to thebase as given above. See the photograph of thefinished model as an example.

and fold in all glue tabs. Starting with eitherthe left or right side, glue the tabs to the insideof an end panel, matching the angles as you go.After finishing one side, repeat the process forthe other. To close the piece, apply glue to therectangular tab at the end and press down onthe opposing panel. This piece can be placedas desired on the model and used as cover for

troops or as an obstacle. Multiple copies of thePod can be stacked in a pyramid shape ifdesired.

TO ASSEMBLE THE STAND-UPSCut out each stand-up so that each piece has a

front image, a back image and a base panel oneither end. Fold the stand-up in the middle andfold the two base panels in. Glue one base panelon top of the other to form a triangle shape.
