Greenshields Award and then, over the years, with other scholarships including a Leverhulm Trust Award. Helped by a Scottish Arts Council

Grant, Lesley was Artist in Residence at Edinburgh Zoo.

Lesley regularly exhibits at the RGI, PAI and RSA and has had solo exhibitions at Compass Gallery, Glasgow; Bohun Gallery, Henley on Thames; Heartbreak Gallery, London and the

Substation Gallery, Singapore.

She has work in several public collections including Kelvingrove Art Gallery, Perth Museum and Art Gallery, Aberdeen Art Gallery

and the Lillie Art Gallery as well as private collections in Singapore, America, Belgium and Italy.

The Scottish Gallery

Born in Glasgow in 1932, James Morrison studied at Glasgow School of Art from 1950-1954. He joined the staff at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee, in 1965 and in 1987 he left the college to paint full-time. Since then, his work has

been exclusively available through The Scottish Gallery.

In the spring of 2013 Morrison’s work will be recognised by a retrospective exhibition at The Fleming Collection in London and through the publication of a new monograph,

Land and Landscape: the painting of James Morrison.

Born in Hertfordshire, England, in 1967, Fletcher Sibthorp is a contemporary representational artist living and working in London.

His artworks are particularly distinctive due to their use of a mixture of metal leaf, oil paint and glazes, applied in a classical, grisaille technique.

“Through my use of elemental and coveted materials, like gold and

palladium, I am not only striving to give my work an historic connection to religious, iconographic paintings, but also to endow them with their

own life and brilliance; to make them shimmer in whatever light illuminates them. Using a classical style, my objective is to create

jewel-like pieces – artworks of intrinsic worth. Their beauty is their meaning and one which, I hope, will touch the soul and open a

window of inspiration to all those that view them.”

Emily Young is an internationally renowned stone carver and regarded by many to be one of the finest of her

Alan Kingsbury was born in London in 1960 and began painting in oils at an early age. Through numerous exhibitions over the last 25 years he has become known for his idiosyncratic

figure compositions motivated by surreal elements or unexpected juxtapositions. The paintings search for a kind of poetry of inner

emotions within a framework that is ambiguously distant, elegiac and witty.

An Academician of the Royal West of England Academy, Kingsbury has lived and worked in Cornwall since 1991.

Hector was born in Perth, Scotland in 1988. He studied painting and sculpting at the Charles H Cecil Studios in

Florence for several years where his tuition focused on the naturalistic tradition of oil painting and sculpting using the ‘sight size’ technique. The image shown is a sculpture of Muir in the making – a striking likeness as all who have

met him will agree.

Hector will create a bust of you or a loved one cast in plaster or bronze. He works from life in his studio in central Edinburgh and will require between three and

five two-hour sittings to create your sculpture.

Bowman Sculpture

Dutch sculptor Hanneke Beaumont trained in the United States and now lives and works in Brussels, Belgium. Her studio is in Pietrasanta,

Italy, where she realises her emotive sculptures in terracotta, bronze and cast iron demonstrating her impressive fluency with materials.

Beaumont is celebrated for her figurative work which features in both public and private collections across the world. Each figure is carefully

rendered, with complex visceral surfaces, often suggesting a still thoughtfulness. Beaumont’s figures represent a universal type -

neither tellingly male or female, they explore the human condition.

Beaumont’s latest public exhibition is currently open at The Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park, USA, ranked

in the top 100 most-visited art museums in the world.

Gordon Mitchell was born in 1952 and studied at Edinburgh College of Art. He embarked on a career in teaching before becoming

a full-time painter in 1989. A prolific painter, Mitchell is often labelled a surrealist - he thinks not but certainly wants his work to be thought-provoking. Inspiration can be a group of words or a topical news story, but more usually it’s a visual pun that

provides the catalyst for his creativity.

Routine and his own family - rather than the one he came from - have always meant much to Mitchell. He works hard

and does not sleep much. He likes an intensive, regular, daily eight hours in his studio.

Mitchell is an elected Member of the Royal Society of Painters in Watercolour (1997), the Royal Glasgow Institute

(1998) and the Royal Scottish Academy (2005).

McFadyen was part of a diaspora of artists from the 1960s onwards which took to the East End of London. He moved from Scotland in the late 1970s and the streets of London

Fields, and Docklands and its people, were his subject. Full blown urban landscapes, sometimes on a monumental

scale, and witty - often challenging - portrayals of the people that inhabit this peripheral world, are what

McFadyen is best known for.

Born in London in 1958, Peter Howson moved to Scotland as a child and enrolled in Glasgow School of Art in 1975. During his final year his prodigious talent was recognized

and nurtured by his tutor, Sandy Moffat, whom Peter credits with giving him the confidence to begin his career as an artist.

In 1983 Peter debuted his first public commission – a series of wall murals dedicated to the commumity in Feltham, London. Since then, his reputation as one of his generation’s most formidable artists, has grown and grown and he exhibits both internationally and in

the UK with his work collected globally by famous and faithful patrons.

Leon Morrocco was born in Edinburgh and studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, The Slade and Edinburgh College of Art before winning an Italian government scholarship in 1968 to study at the Accademia di Brera in Milan. His works reveal both

his outstanding draughtsmanship and his passion for colour, and in 1998, a monogragh on his life and work, Leon Morrocco: Journeys and Observations, was published. His work can be

seen in The Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, The Scottish Arts Council, Leeds Art Gallery, The Nuffield Foundation and Queensland Art Gallery.

Born in Glasgow in 1973, Faulkner graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 1996 and chose follow the demanding path of figurative painting. He has enjoyed highly successful

Jack Vettriano Bluebird Collection

In 1997, Sir Terence Conran commissioned Jack Vettriano to create a series of works to be displayed in his venture, The Bluebird Club, which was located in the Kings Road, London, and themed on Malcolm Campbell’s Bluebird cars. Vettriano created seven paintings on the theme

to great success. The paintings were sold at auction in 2008 with the sales exceeding £250,000. The paintings hold a special place in Vettriano’s affection, as they were his first real

commission and highlighted his passion for fabulous cars and women.

To commemorate the Bluebird series, Heartbreak Publishing has created a very special Limited Edition Box Set featuring beautiful giclee prints of all seven paintings as well as

the brochure on the behind the scenes of each painting, a signed book and set of notecards. With a handmade portfolio box and a small edition run of 75, the Bluebird Collection

is a beautiful collectors piece.

Matisse’s most intensely coloured and highly desired pieces, and is an example of the ‘cutout’ style he developed towards the end of his career.

from 1954. This piece is at the same time an homage to Paris and an affirmation of Chagall’s style and love

of colours. On the lower part, there is one of the most iconic Parisian monuments, The Opera Garnier,

whose ceiling he was commissioned to paint in 1963 by France’s Minister of Culture Andre Malraux.

This is an original woodblock engraving from 1960. It is part of the series The Divine Comedy which

was Dali’s interpretation of Dante’s work.This series took Dali ten years to complete and is widely considered to be one of the highlights

of his career.

54cm x 62cmThis work is an exceptional original black and white lithograph from 1950. The piece depicts Picasso’s

daughter from his relationship with Francois Gilot. To create this piece Picasso dipped his finger in ink

and created the lithograph entirely by hand.

Lot 223 PABLO PICASSO Immortalite

50cm x 58cmThis is an original lithograph from 1943, from an edition of 300, signed on the plate. This series was

created by the artist to accompany poems by Sappho. Perhaps the most renowned artist of all time, the

name Picasso is synonymous with artistic genius. His prints show the consummate standard of technique

and draughtsmanship and experimentation in a wide range of techniques: etching, lithography and

linocuts. His printmaking did not simply reproduce images from paintings - they were the product

of a creative process in itself.
