ABOUT MMDU

The University has steadily developed into a

center of academic excellence in a short span of

about two decades and has established its vast

campus comprising academic institutions in the

areas of Engineering, Computer Applications,

Medical, Dental, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy,

Nursing, Business Management, Hotel

Management, Law & M.M. International School.

Maharishi Markandeshwar (Deemed To Be

University) is located in the rural heartland of

village Mullana in a sprawling campus on the bank

of Markanda River with exotic lush green

surroundings of green fields, high trees and rural

folk with all modern amenities on its Campus.

As a part of its expansion Programme, the

Maharishi Markandeshwar Trust has developed

two more vibrant State University Campuses at

Sadopur (Ambala) and Solan (HP).

define UniversuMM 2018 where young and talent youth from over 65

Universities across India shared the stage while competition in over 100

competitions. The event was all the more special owing that it marked

the beginning of 25th Year of our inception.

The much awaited star night featured Tulsi Kumar & Mohd. Irfan left

everyone craving for more. UniversuMM 2018 also hosted the Miss

India Organization Campus Princess Auditions 2019 which was judged

by Ms. Priyanka Kumari, Miss India 2nd Runner up and Mr. Abhi

Khajuria (Mr. India, First Runner up 2017).

UniversuMM 2018 turned out to be a potpourri for all the talented

youth as they battled for the supremacy in various stupendous

competitions ranging from Fashion parade to folk dances; from Robo-

war to Cricket Championship, from Biz Wiz to Lazzate Mithas and from

Mega Model hunt to Mr. & Ms. UniversuMM 2018.

GENERAL GUIDELINES

Ÿ Confirmation of accommodation shall be provided to all registered students who has completed all

formalities including payment of fee at least 48 hours in advance to the commencement of the festival.

Ÿ A participant can participate in any number of events (if not running parallel) with the registration fees of Rs.

500/- only which includes accommodation as well (if available on first come first served basis)

Ÿ School Children from Standard 8 to Standard 12 are allowed to participate in the festival. However, in case

the children in coming through Academies & Clubs, there is no bar on the current standard in which the

student is studying.

Ÿ Accommodation shall not be provided to local participants from Ambala City, Ambala Cantt., Shahbad and

Yamunanagar as a number of buses ply between the campus and the above mentioned cities.

Ÿ Accommodation fee of Rs. 50/- per head per day shall be charged from the contestants seeking

accommodation.

Ÿ Participants should produce their valid College ID card at the time of registration during the fest.

Participants must have their UniversuMM Id card with them at all venues for participation purpose.

Ÿ Food has to be managed by the participants on their own from the mess available in the campus on paid

basis or external kiosks present in and around the campus.

Ÿ The performers from Certified Clubs and Academies have to be an enrolled bonafide student of any

Certified / Affiliated School, College, Institute or University having valid Identity card of the Institution they

are studying in as well as that of the Clubs and the Academies. It is to be noted that only students enrolled in

full time programme of at least 2 years shall be permitted. Students enrolled in short time certification

course / programmes from technical certification Institutions are NOT permitted to participate.

Ÿ This Mega fest is open to all Students of Institutions, Schools, Certified Clubs and Academies.

Ÿ Cash Prizes shall be issued in the form of Cheque. Cheques shall be issued in the name of Individual in

case of solo events and team leader in case of Group event. Division of the cash prize amongst the team

shall be a matter of the team and MMDU shall not be responsible in case of any Intra-team dispute.

Ÿ The tentative schedule of events will be posted on the UniversuMM-2019 website before the

commencement of the fest, yet the organizers reserve the right to make changes accordingly if necessary

due to unavoidable circumstances.

Ÿ Decisions of the judges shall be final.

Ÿ All the participants should strictly follow the rules and regulations of the UniversuMM. Misbehaviour of any

kind in any event will lead to disqualification from the fest.

Ÿ ORGANIZERS SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING PHOTOGRAPHS AND VIDEOS TO

TEAMS. All teams are hereby requested to kindly bring along their media person for coverage and that

person has to be a student and cannot be a professional. The coverage, too, has to be done from the space

available and so special access shall be granted to the personnel.

Ÿ It is to be noted that there shall be only one level of Competition common to all i.e School / Institute /

Colleges / Universities / Clubs / Academies etc.

Ÿ Students with incomplete degree (course incomplete / backlogs / thesis submission pending, etc.) are

allowed to participate. Students whose provisional degree has been sanctioned by any Institution shall not

be considered eligible to compete if not admitted in any other Institution on completion of the degree.

ACCOMMODATION

Ÿ All accommodation shall be on first registered first served basis. A candidate shall be considered registered

once the fee for registration of the fest is paid online while accommodation fee shall be charged offline on

arrival. Only basic facility such as Mattress, Bed-sheet & Pillow shall be provided. Students are advised to

arrange all specific requirements if any, as desired. Accommodation helpline number shall be announced

14 days before the festival.

Ÿ Shared accommodation in Rooms / Dormitory / Halls shall be provided to all participants from locations

other than Ambala, Ambala Cantt. and Yamunagar. Accommodation fee of Rs. 50/- per head per day shall

be charged from the contestants seeking accommodation.

TRANSPORTATIONŸ MMDU is well connected from Ambala Cannt. and all nearby cities. However, special buses shall ply from &

to Ambala Cantt. for students who are arriving & leaving on the first day & last day of the event. Participants

shall also be allowed to ply from and to various locations where University buses ply such as Ambala,

Yamuna Nagar, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Chandigarh, Patiala, Rajpura, etc. as per University bus schedule

and availability of space in it. Transportation helpline number shall be announced 14 days before the

festival.

CASH PRIZE POLICY

Ÿ In case any event gets cancelled due to poor participation, the event shall not be held. However, registration

fee submitted if any shall be refunded, if the contestant was a participant exclusively only in that

competition.

Ÿ Cash Prizes, Medals & Certificate of Merit shall be awarded only for First & Second Prize winners, however,

for third prize only Certificate of Merit & medals shall be awarded. Depending upon the level of competition,

up to three third prizes can be awarded.

Ÿ Universumm 2019 shall follow a cash prize policy according to which a competition shall be held if and only

if, there a minimum of 5 participation in duet & group events and a minimum of 8 in case of Solo Events.

- Solo Event: Event shall be held if there are at least 8 participants and only first prize shall be g iven.

Ÿ Cash Prizes shall be issued in the form of Cheque. Cheques shall be issued in the name of Individual in

Ÿ Prizes shall be issued as per the following rules:

- Solo Events: First, Second & Third Prize shall be given if there are at least 15 participants.

- Duet Event: First, Second & Third Prize shall be given if there are at least 11 groups & teams.

- Duet Event: Event shall be held if there are at least 5 groups / teams and only first prize shall be given.
