Introduction: What do they know about them? Hand out a copy of the history of human rights ('Highs and lows of Human Rights”)
Divide the class in small groups and give them information of different rights with real stories connected.
The students share the above info. by means of short oral presentations.
Speech in English by our school Philosophy teacher Josep Sanllehí about how the concept of human rights was created.
They surf onto the internet searching for claims and movements in favour of human rights.
Esther Vivas coordinator of the project 'Stand up for Your Rights' will explain in English this unique experience with youngsters from all over the world.
We will also invite a newcomer with high involvement in this fight for justice to give a talk in English (we will first find info of his country and his cause). After the talk they will prepare a summary, their opinion and evaluation of the whole experience. A good way to end this activity.
