• Important- part of their day to day life

• Teens listen to diff. types of music than adults (newer songs- adults listen to music that were popular when they were young)

• Big influence- mood (sad listen to happy songs feel happier)

Why Is Music Constructive?

• Inspires- think more deeply and notice things that they have never noticed before

- to be a better person

• Express emotions – how teens are feeling is the type of music they listen to

• Relate to music- the lyrics are what happened to them or how they are feeling

• Makes boring stuff more fun
