KERRANG! Magazine – Analysing front covers by researching them and

contrasting them

Mast head:

The Mast Head is placed onto of an background and the man’s dark hair. This

shows that magazines work well with black background. The size of font is also very big

and is in capital letters this shows that Kerrang is trying to advertise and show off their title because Kerrang is a big name. It also has an ‘!’ in the name in order to make it exciting

and clear. It also has clear lines going through the mast head font in order to make it very rigid and has the effect of broken glass in order to attract the type of audience to the magazine. The use of colours on the Mast

Head of grey, black and white are very dull and judging by the broken glass effect and sell lines etc. the effect could be in order to make

KERRANG look like a bad person and like an criminal which is also effective with the

colours, his clothes and leather jacket. On the other two contrasting magazines they are

colourful but this one has persuaded the target audience by trying

Photographs / layers of images or text:

The picture portrays the magazines and all the other colours. Kerrang clothing is black which stands out against the background. Because of his background and his hand gestures the music magazine is probably trying to suggest that on the

music shows that he is a bad person and that is says ‘worst enemy’ suggests he is not an nice person and the black, grey, white and red colours suggest that he is an bad person with his face looks quite stern and angry.

The other photos are ironic because they are the only photos in different images on the page that are more happy and funny. For example someone is sticking out their tongue and joking about getting married. This could be to joke trying to attract people to buy the magazine or try to get different target audiences or is showing between the good or bad.

Also the layers of magazine is done well because they are made so It is easy to see all the text and images. The title has been decided to been put over all the main image this is because the head is big and it will be hard to see it and they are also trying to make the title and all other text clear by putting the Mast head in big

Skyline /Strapline:

The strap line is simple and clear and contrasting them to all the other magazines they also put it at the top. From the research we know that they have decided to put one of sell lines at the top as a strap line so readers can see it on the selves at the shop and not the title, so they put the main one at the top in order so customers get attracted to the magazine. The text is in caps as al the other text in the magazine to draw readers in so readers get drawn in easily to see it and it makes it look more extreme which is better for it’s target audience. It encourages the reader to pick it up because they don’t have to waste time picking up the magazine, they can just look at it so it persuades them to pick it up because it is an good magazine.

It is in red because it is under black and it is mars so that is why it is around this colour. They have photo-shopped the image of the man so it can be involved in two layers of the man or the see through text box in order so they have made the man to go below the black see-through text shape then they have photo-shopped his arm so it goes back under which is effective because you can only see the text and the images is clear, they must have selected part of it on Photoshop. Also they have used layers in order to make other text clear such as saying “I could be your worst enemy.” Is on a black background which makes this clearer in order so it is recognised as it is clear and it would attract the target audience that the magazine is aiming itself at the target audience by the image angrily staring at the audience. There is also a image in the top corner when I do my music magazine I will also contrast this and do this because it will give readers a example about what my music magazine in order so it will attract them to buy the music magazine because it is their target audience and attracts them.Next …

r Researching them and contrasting them

Layout / style / effectsThe layout of magazine is simple and clear to read. All the text is always above the images which makes the magazine easy to read. The broken glass effect makes the style of the magazine look effective because it because it fits the theme.. The title and all the text is layered out on top of the images. This magazine contrasts with the other two magazine's because they are beneath. The Kerrang Magazine has chosen to lay out the title above the head unlike the other titles because the magazine is trying to make it clear that what the title I by layering it on top of Kerrang hair. His head is also big and it is only over his hair so the magazine is laid out on top so it is easy to read it is laid out on top because it will let the reader see it quickly behind the black background.. Also all the text is above the images. The text “30SECONDS TO MARS2 is in red font and in a black faded background. This fits with the Mars theme and is effective. The see-through back background is a effect. With this text on this background it looks effective. The sub-heading, title and image is at the top of the page. This is laid out here because the magazine is trying to show the reader the key information in order to persuade them to buy it. It is behind to see the magazine and gets rid of the un-important part of KERRANGS hair so you can see the title.

ColoursThe colours of Kerrang are dark and bad in order to attract the target audience to the target audience to the magazine. The magazine has gone with colours like red, black, white, grey and has broken glass on the mast head font. All these colours symbolise bad or evil and the broken glass effect on the text makes Kerrang look an criminal and he his face looks scary which attracts the target audience. The text “30 seconds to Mars” is done in red which comes up on background and is suitable because Mars is related to this colour.

The colours on the magazine are designed/photo-shopped so that is clear and easy to see and they are always In front of the images. For example firstly the title has an background text box placed specifically behind it in order to make it clearer and make it stand out better in the white background. In addition to this it is made effective when the mans hair is layered above the black section but the title is above this is well though thought out to make the text clearer. The broken glass coloured as black are the reason why the text could be white so the broken glass so it clear to read and looks effective and scary.

Besides further more the colours with broken glass and red are effective because red can represent blood and with broken glass is effective and colour be an reason why the magazine decided to use the colour red in the magazine.

KERRANG! Magazine– Analysing front covers by

Researching them and contrasting them

Layout / style / effectsThe title is laid out at the top of the place in order so the customer buy the magazine. because it is the main text so the know the magazine is their interest or targeted audience. It is also has a sell line above in order to show the reader what is about and also the image.

The fonts style is to have all the text in capital letters this is in order to make it clear. The main image is always laid behind the text which is an effective style because you can see all he text in front and see the main features of the main images such as his head and hand actions. All the magazines has skylines laid out on top of title which is effective because it encourages the reader to pick it up because it is about it’s topic. Because all magazines have this laid out on top I would put on top of my magazine in order to make it easier to know what the magazine is about.

ColoursThe colours are made to stand out in the background are in strong colours. To conclude all the red, white, black and broken glass are all dull and the r red or broken glass makes Kerrang look an bad person are made to look he is criminal and his stern look makes him an bad person especially with all the text such as being your worst enemy. The commercial elements such as the barcode are also in an white background decided to be put on the front cover which is the only way you can get it on the front cover.

Besides further more finally there is an drop shadow behind the red point-star auto shape. This is effective because it says “Meet Alice In chains”.

All the darker images apart from the one with the lady in an green background and around red that looks like see is dancing all the other photos are around black or grey areas. This is because the magazine is using relevant colour and the magazine Is trying to make the black and white colours stand out in the background. The text “I could be your worse enemy” and all the other sell lines are in a pure black background which this is effective

colours choice because it allows the reader to see the text clearly. Also all the colours with white, red, black and broken glass suggest that Kerrang looks like he is a bad person with some of the language such as the “dark side exposed” this shows it makes Kerrang look like a bad person. All the text is in white or black background which makes the text always stand out and goes with the audience it contrasts with the other two magazines because they are also put on a white or different colour background, I could the contrasting feature to put on my music magazine because it would allow you to be able to see it clearly see all the information on my magazine front cover. The barcode is in a white background to make it visible over Kerrang’s Jacket. The colours attract the target audience also because the colours tend to be represented as bad colours which attract the target audience to the magazine because it shows the primary target audience the type of theme the magazine is. I will do the colours dark as it matches the target audience contrasting.

Hair is behind to view title because it is less important than hair

Contents (Sell lines, competitions)

The contents of the Kerrang on the front cover are clear and simple to read. The Kerrang Magazine is simple and clear to read. On any of the three magazines there is not much information getting in the way. The Kerrang Magazine says “DARK SIDE EXPOSED” and “BLACK METAL POSTER SPECIAL!”. The contents of the music magazine also fits the colour of the magazine because it is dark, when I do my music magazine I should also fit it so it is similar. I could also use poster specials or as a sell line on my music magazine because it is a similar music genre. I analysed Kerrang also has many other photos as I found out from my questionnaire response this is what they want. Kerrang also has lot’s of sell lines not all magazines have this but I could do this because it would be good because It would show all the information. Kerrang also has a image in the corner I could also do this in order so that there is space. On all the music magazines there are skylines I should create this on my magazine after analysing it because it allows the reader to see it on the magazine without picking it up. There are not any competitions on this music magazine front cover but there on others and I will do it on mine in order to attract the reader to buy...

The layout of magazine is simple and clear to read. All the text is always above the images which makes the magazine easy to read. Because it attracts the target audience.

… the magazine. The commercial element barcode background is in white I will also put a white background on the barcode in my front cover in order so that the reader can see the barcode clearly. Also the price is next to the barcode and I will also do this because I don’t want the price to get in the way so I will put it in the inside or next to the barcode in small font so the reader can notice it if they search for it and does not ruin the front cover. (Commercial Element)

KERRANG! Magazine – Analysing front covers by researching them and

contrasting them Language

The language of the of the Kerrang Magazine is scary and dark which contrasts with the colours of the Kerrang magazine. Because I have decided what music I will do which is heavy metal rock and a target audience of 15-30/28, I will need to contrast the music magazine language on this magazine because it is similar target audience unlike the BBC music magazine.

The Kerrang Music Magazine says “JARED LETO’S DARK SIDE EXPOSED”. I could put it something similar up onto my blog because it contrasts with the same target audience and I will get a more customers buying my magazine. “MEET ALICE IN CHAINS” which is also scary language. Kerrang also use threating language such as “HEALTH SCARE”. I could use this on my target audience in order to encourage the reader to buy the magazine because that is it’s target audience. The language is threatening and dark which contrasts with the colours. The colours are dark as it is a similar target audience I will do this in order to attract the correct customers to my music magazine front cover.

Commercial elements – price, bar code etc.

The bar code on the Kerrang magazine is easy to read because the barcode is on a black background they put it on the magazine in a white background in order to make it stand it out better. The magazine puts the commercial puts element the price under the barcode in small writing this contrasts with the other magazines being the same because this shows that the magazine is trying not to make the price clear and taking up the front cover because it would put customers off the magazine so they put it small in the corner or on the back, contents page because in case they want it they can view it. None of the magazines I am contrasting in this P.P or other magazines has I-Phones barcodes I could include in this magazine to make my magazine better and encourage people to buy the magazine. When I do my magazine I will put my barcode away in the corner, KERRANG! and BBC does their barcode straight on but VIBE contrasts and does their sideways I will do my music magazine sideways because it is out of the way and there is enough room also above. KERRANG! contrasts from other magazines and also has other information there such as their website, when I do my music magazine I will include the website address for the magazine and blog place.

KERRANG! Magazine – Analysing front covers by researching them and

Fonts

All the fonts on the Kerrang Magazine are used in order to express what is going on in the music magazine. Firstly the KERRANG! title theme has broken glass on the title, this is to in order relate the reader to the topic. It is over the top of head so the reader can read the image clearly. When I create my music magazine I will also put a title theme that Is related to my topic and target audience in order to encourage the reader to be interested in it so they buy the magazine.

On the music magazine there is no ordinary “Times New Roman” like contrasting on the BBC article, however this contrasts the KERRANG! Music magazine as it all different fonts when I do my music magazine as it will attract the audience to buy the magazine as this is what they want.

All the fonts are also in capital letters because of this when I do my music magazine I will put it all in capital letters because this is what all target audiences want because all three of the target audiences want this because most of their music magazine is in capital letters because this will attract the reader because it has big fonts sizes it will attract the user to buy the music magazine.

The font ‘worst’ is in Italic this will encourage the reader to notice that is the worst and make it clear when I do my music magazine I will do this in order to encourage the reader to pick up the same points as it is the same target audience so It will be similar so I will do the same thing.

Mast head:

The Mast Head of the Vibe magazine is put behind the mans head. This is to in order because it is still possible for the reader to look behind it in order to read it. This allows the presentational features such as the circle sticker or the man image to be more clear. The differences contrasts with Kerrang where it makes all the title clear, on the Vibe magazine they put the image above the text so you can see the image clearly and there is enough text so you can read all the title clearly on top as well as the image. The mast head colour is white without any shape outline which makes it clear. The Mast Head is behind I will contrast this comparing to my music magazine. Title name:

The title ‘Vibe’ is a quick, lively word that attracts the user to the magazine. This could contrast onto the music magazine because it could help me because it would encourage the reader in order to buying the magazine.

Skyline/ strapline:

The skyline is clear and simple in order to show the reader about what is in the magazine. The light green colours on the key parts of the magazine. This is useful because it shows the reader the key parts of the magazine on the shelf in order to encourage the user to buy the magazine by making visible the main parts or key words of the magazine by making it with clear colour changes so the reader recognises the magazine, the magazine has key words in order so the reader knows what the magazine is about to attract the target audience before it is picked up from the selves because this will be visible and the main parts of the magazine that you can’t get without picking it up from contents or sell lines etc. The strap line and all the text is in capital letters like Kerrang contrasting with all the other three magazines because of this it will be a good idea in order to encourage the reader to buy the magazine.

The word vibe means vibration = lively word, this shows that the magazine is lively. This also contrasts with the skyline where it has a lively change in the strap line. The Vibe Music Magazines skyline is on top of the title like all the other three contrasting music magazines so I will do this in order to attract the target audience to my music magazine. My name will also contrast to y features, on headlines, sell lines and information.

VIBE Magazine – Analysing front covers by researching them and contrasting them

Vibe =vibration: lively word

Vibe =vibration: lively word

Mast headThe name of the magazine. This masthead (title) stays in the same position. It acts like the logo or symbol of the magazine. Look at colour, size of the font and the

choice of ‘name’ title.

The Mast Head of the Vibe magazine is also got a smaller letter this could be different cause size and attract users to buy the magazine because It is different I could also contrast this to my music magazine in order to attract my target audience to the target audience because it is similar genre and target audience.

Page 13: Music magizines content research and anylasis final on blog

Photographs / layers of images or text:

The photographed image is layered behind the title but the sell lines are in front. This shows the magazine the magazine considers the sell lines and image more important than the title. The title is put behind the image in order so you can see it and the magazine is showing that there is enough of the word Vibe to see it behind it because it is doing it so that the reader can see the image. The sell lines have also gone in front of the main photograph partly in order to so you can read the sell lines properly.

In the photograph his hat is not on properly and he is slouching which contrasts with the music magazine because he is lively.

All the text is in order front of the image apart from the title, this is so readers can get to see all the important information of the music magazine but not the important one.

Also the sticker is on top of the sell line this could be in order to try and attract the sticker as it is important information so they will be attracted to the most important information.

Commercial elements – price, bar code etc.

The bar code on the Vibe magazine is placed sideways this is in order to make space for the barcode so it is not in the way of the image, this could be something I cold do on my music magazine in order to avoid it getting in the way. Also the price is at the bottom of the barcode is small font contrasting with the other magazines this is done in order to stop it getting in the way of all the rest of the magazine.

It also has information around the barcode I could use this to attract it to my target audience. The barcode it is also sideways and I will do this in order to keep the barcode out of the way of music magazine so It will attract my target audience more to the music magazine

The price is also not in the music magazine I could do this in order to attract my target magazine better convinced into buying the music magazine Media Product because the price is not getting in the way, but I have decided to just put it on smaller next to the barcode so they don’t feel deceived and it easy to know how to buy the music magazine. This

contrasts with my music magazine.

I could also add extra features onto the barcode which could make it more exciting. For example a shopping basket, however I don’t want the reader to get attracted to the bar code and be interested in the music magazine.

Commercial ElementCommercial element are price and bar codes etc.

Contents (Sell lines, competitions)

The sell lines on the music magazine are put in front of the image. The most important sell lines are in bigger font this is in order to make the most important things on the magazine stand out in order to encourage the reader to buy the magazine also part of the skyline is a bigger font in order to attract the reader to the main parts of the music magazine. Also the sell lines are in different colours in order to show the music magazine main sections.

The music magazine has put important sell lines in red edges around them this makes it more lively and vibrating this is also contrasts with the other two magazines BBC Music and Kerrang which also have shapes in the sell lines. I could do this in my own music magazine in order to match target audiences and real magazines.

Also all the text is in cap locks this contrasts with all other three music magazines and magazines that are searchable. Because all off the magazines are in caps lock I will do my music magazine also in caps lock to make the text clearer and that is what appeals to people who read music magazines. However on the smaller searches all the information like quotes are not in capital letters, I

Language

The Kerrang magazine uses language like Vibe in order to show the reader what can of magazine it is. The Music Magazine uses language like Vibe on the magazine this encourages the reader s Vibe means lively and vibrating. Also the skyline also uses different magazines. This will contrast with the other magazines because they will all relate . to the name so I will make my magiz magazine also relate to the name. magazine also uses The magazine also uses ironic laungu language at the top of the page when I it says “THE RISE AND TRAGIC OF FALL OF THE DEBARGE COMP THE DEBARGE FAMILY”. This is a livele lively skyline that changes on my music mag magazine if I do a lively magazine for exam example I will do this.

will do my sell lines all in capital letters because that Is what the primary target audience of music magazines are attracted to because it is allows the reader clearly and it is stands out to the reader. The sell lines are done the side which will attract to music magazine so it will encourage the reader to see both which will contrast to mine.

Furthermore the magazine… “I’m still virgin” also attracts to the rest of the target a audience because it is attracted to the target audience because it using that kind of language that attracts to the target audience that I will have to do when I set up my music magazine front cover.

This is a common font used through out the magizine which is done to give consumer

VIBE Magazine – Analysing front covers by researching contrasting real products

and contrasting themColours

The colours of Kerrang are dark and bad in order to attract the target audience to the target audience to the magazine.

The three contrasting music magazines the colours are also quite dark contrasting to

KERRANG! I will contrast dark colours to mine but you need to see what is says

because it similar to the target audience. He is also putting his hands in his topic

which makes him look cool so I could also do this with my contrasting music

magazines.

Fonts

The fonts are all in caps which contrasts to all the other three music magazines which I will do in order to

attract the real music magazine audience by making all the text on the music magazine products clear and it stands it so the target audience reads

the music magazine.

The font of the letter “e” is also put in small letters on all their magazine this could be to attract the target audience

because it attracts customers to the music magazine offline and online

because it is different. When I contrast it to my music magazine I will also do

this in order to attract users to my music magazine. Also he has tattooed fonts on his hand which could be used to attract users to the music magazine

because it is different because he makes him look cool, I could do this kind of effect on my music magazine in order to contrast to the real target audience.

Also the text “IN YOUR EYES” is also put in Italic this could be used in order to make it clear so I could contrast and do my music magazine so It is attracted

to the target audience.

Page 16: Music magizines content research and anylasis final on blog

them

Layout / Style / Effects

The VIBE magazine layout is simple and clear. The person is in the middle of the music magazine with text down the side in order to attract the reader with parts of the music magazine down the side. This contrasts with the other three music magazines. On my front cover I will change this and do my rock star at right side in order so I can attract my target audience to the music magazine but having a different layout to the normal music magazines.

Also the top of the skyline is also in a faded black background which contrasts the Kerrang magazine because this was this as well contrasting with the music magazine where it says “30 SECONDS TO MARS”, I could also do this in order to attract it to music magazine because Kerrang and Vibe are similar target audiences so this would be affective to attract it to my target audience.

Also on Kerrang there has a !, magazines do not normally have this and no of them two. I won’t do two because it puts the readers off, this contrasts with the other three music magazines. All info about style

Also the music magazine has put it all the important parts in green which is effective these colours would attract their target audience. When I do my final magazine front cover I will also put important parts of my magazine in different colours so the users will be attracted to key parts magazine will be attracted to the main parts of the music magazine.

Mast head / Title:

The mast head on this music magazine is below the image like on the vibe magazine. The Mast Head is put behind in order to show the image mire Cleary. When I do my music magazine depending on the photo I will either put my music magazine either above or underneath the photo. This will get it to contrast to my music magazine, so if it is full they can see the title.

The mast head first letter is in a small letter which contrasts to VIBE which is the same, also I could do this on my music magazine so it will make it stand to customers so that they will buy my music magazine.

Also the Mast Head title has a shadow behind the title, on completely white background this makes it stand it more, I could do this on my magazine and make effects.

Also the free CD is on the title, I could put a sell line or reward/something next to my sell line in order so I will get more sales because relevant information is put on for the target audience.

BBC Music Magazine – Analysing front covers by researching them and

contrasting them Skyline/ strapline:

The Skyline is above all the music magazine which contrasts with the other music magazines. This is here so you can see information without picking up the magazine. When I do my final music magazine photo will put my skyline underneath the title in order to attract the target audience to the music magazine and makes the mast head look it is in charge. This will contrast with the other three music magazines because is put underneath however some don’t this makes the title look commanding at the top and you can see the strapline underneath well.

Also on my music magazine I will put the key features of music magazine on the skyline rather than the less important parts. This will help the target audience few important information on the skyline rather than a individual topic in order so that they will be attracted to the target audience. The strapline also has part of the title, If I have to parts to my music magazine I could also do this, however by putting the BBC logo next to the strap line it makes it harder to recognise it is BBC music. Part of the strap line is also in bold to make it easier to read I could also do this so that I can view the most important parts of the music magazine. I could also use different colours in the strapline in order so that I can encourage readers to pick up the magazine.

Mast head

The name of the magazine. This masthead (title) stays in the same position. It acts like the logo or symbol of the magazine. Look at colour, size of the font and the

choice of ‘name’ title.

Skyline / strapline

Always at the top, think sky! Calls out to readers about some special attraction,

posters, freebies or an article. Not always on every edition

Layout / style / effects

Firstly the title is layered out behind the image this contrasts with the Vibe magazine that the mast head is behind the image however on the Kerrang magazine this could be in because there is not enough room on the BBC or Vibe magazine to fit in the title without taking over the image. I have decided not to do this on my music magazine and target it so it fits correctly and the title can be shown clearly. KERRANG contrasts and has also a black rectangle behind if my head gets in the way of my title I could do this when I do my music magazine in order to avoid things getting in the way in order so I can make the title big and clear so that it is not in the way.

Also an effect on the main picture is that there is a shadow behind the main image this this is effective in the white background.

The layout ‘style’ is with a image in the middle with sell lines down the middle this is useful because It allows you to talk about the sell lines down the side which is clear and a lot of space to talk about them with the right width. However if you need longer sell lines then contrasting the picture is better at the side.

Colours

The colours are the BBC music magazine is quite bland and empty because of the white background without out much information. The most important colours of the music magazine is in red. This attracts the target audience to main part of the music magazine in order so they buy the music magazine.

Also the important parts of the music magazine is also on bold, this is in order to attract the reader to the music magazine in order so that they read the important parts of the magazine.

The top has transparency colours on the dress/top this attracts readers the specific target audience for this music magazine.

The colours are mainly attracted to the female target audience and I will also attract the music magazine to my target audience. Sarah Chang is in big font so the main musician is noticed to attract the audience.

Fonts

The fonts are clear and are all in normal fonts such as “Times New Roman”.

However the music magazine front cover is also all in capital locks like all the other

information, this is useful in order to attract the reader in order to get/view the

music magazine.

The title in the BBC music magazine also has some small and capital letters. When I

do my music magazine analysis I could also do this in order to attract the readers

to my music magazine.

Also some of the fonts are in bold which is done in order to attract the target audience

to key information.

It is simple fonts because it is BBC music however when I do my music magazine in order to attract to my music magazine to

the correct audience.

Commercial elements – price, bar code etc.

The bar code on the BBC music magazine is landscape and fits right under the other sell lines so they have made it the right size in order to make sure it fits the music magazine. This barcode contrasts to KERRANG! because it is the right way, however I will contrast my music magazine to VIBE so it sideways in order so it does not get in the way of the rest of the music magazine.

The price is also down in the corner next to the barcode, I will also do this to contrast with the real target audience so they can find it so they don’t feel deceived but it is in the corner so you can read and it does not get in the way of the rest of the music magazine which gets in the way.

Also the website is underneath the title. When I do my music magazine I will create a website address in order so that It will attract the target audience in order to buy the music magazine front cover. I will use a internet sign. I could put it at the top but I need to put in the skyline so I will put it at the bottom in order to attract the target audience in to buying the magazine, I will also include a web address they can view clears.

Photographs

The photograph on the BBC music magazine is simple in the white background and down the middle so sell lines can be put down the side. It contrasts with the other three music

magazines however not all music magazines are like this.

There is also small pictures of other composers on the music magazine. This is in order to attract the reader to buy the music

magazine.

The photograph off Sarah Chang is holding a cello this helps the reader know what type of

music it is. I will also contrast and do the correct musical instrument for my music

magazine when I complete mine.

There is also a image of a city in the background and other photos. When I

complete music magazine I could contrast it and add other photos in order to interest the target audience and tell them what the music

magazine is about.

Sarah Chang is in big writing in order to attract the target audience.

Language

The language on BBC music is simple and telling what is going on in the magazine.

When I was contrasting VIBE and KERRANG! It had more bad language on the

music magazine in order to attract it to the target audience. However because it is the

BBC, a news intuition they used less swearing on their music magazine front cover.

Also there is a ! On free CD this is used in order to attract the target audience to make it clear. I have figured out there no music +or

magazine uses two ! marks so when I do my music magazine analysis I will make sure I of this so when I attract the real music magazine

target audience.

The language is quite simple and useful unlike Kerrang and Vibe and says things on the

skyline like “LATEST NEWS”, this attracts the reader to the BBC music magazine

because it shows simple. However Kerrang and Vibe also uses bad language when I

contrast my music magazine to these magazines I will have to do this because It

will attract the correct target audience to the music magazine. It has both types of sell lines on each side and says simple information such

as “Exclusive Interview””, it does not have any bad dodgy language like other magazines because it a official BBC magazine which is a

news Intuition so it is more formal.

Contents (Sell lines, competitions– most important)

There are many contents on this page in order to attract the target audience to buying the music magazine. There is a free CD in the magazine. I could do a competition on my music magazine in order to encourage readers to buy the magazine, for example I could do a free electric guitar competition , this is related to my music magazine and it will encourage users in order to buy the music magazine front covers.

The sell lines also are separated onto two sides. On the left side there is ‘exclusive’ interviews of musicians and the other side is concerts. If I had a image like this I could contrast my image in order so I get the same effect in order so customers view what they want to which is effective.

Also it also has contents of the music magazine next to images, I could do this in order to attract these as the most important articles so the target audience will view them. For example I could do a guitar this would encourage users to look at the most important and useful sell lines or competitions.
