Music Wildfire Wildfire is India’s oldest and the most prestigious rock band competition. With prizes worth lacs of rupees and your prestige at stake, Wildfire has been the launch pad for many contemporary bands including Underground Authority, Parikrama, Kryptos, Zygnema, Cassinis’s Division and many more. Prelims are conducted in cities all over India. So get ready to play it loud at Kharagpur. 1. This is a WESTERN rock band competition, open to any college or semi-professional band from India. 2. For the prelims the bands need to submit their entries through an online portal. 3. The maximum length of the submission should not exceed 6 minutes. 4. After the prelims a shortlist of bands would be released who will qualify to perform at the main event at IIT Kharagpur. 5. In finals, a group will be required to perform at least 5 numbers within 40 minutes. (Amps on to amps off inclusive of sound check) 6. BANDS WILL BE DISQUALIFIED ON THE SPOT FOR MISCONDUCT, OBSCENITY OR FOUL LANGUAGE, AND WILL BE BANNED FROM PERFORMING AT ALL SUBSEQUENT EDITIONS OF SPRING FEST. 7. Marks will be deducted for exceeding the time limit. 8. Equipment provided will be: a) One bass amplifier speaker b) One lead amplifier speaker c) Adequate microphones d) Drum set (you can bring along with your own cymbals and chokes/high hats) 9. Bands will have to bring their own musical instruments and special effects. However, programmed music is not allowed. 10. Spring Fest will not be held responsible for the failure of any instrument. 11. The decision of the judges will be final and binding. 12. Spring Fest reserves the right to make any last minute change in the rules. From folk to filmy songs, the stage is set for you to mesmerize the audience and win exciting prizes. 1. The event is conducted in two rounds, an online prelims and finals. 2. During the finals, participants need to perform 1 song (hindi/English). 3. Time limit for this event is 4+2 minutes inclusive of sound check. 4. An orchestra for background music will be provided by Spring Fest. 5. This is strictly a solo event and no accompanists or backing vocals are allowed. 6. Performers will be disqualified on the spot for Misconduct, Obscenity or foul language.

Lake Side Dreams

Have you been into jamming recently? Be it solo or in groups, Lake Side Dreams is the perfect platform to showcase your fervour in western acoustic jamming. The competition invites some of the best musicians from across India to sing to the tunes of nature at the lake side stage.

1. This competition is open to any western acoustic jam based band and individual performance. 2. Only songs in English are permissible. 3. Time limit for individual performance is 10 minutes and for group performance is 15 minutes,

inclusive of sound check. 4. Only non-electrical musical instruments (guitars, basses, flutes etc.) are allowed. However one

synthesizer is allowed per entry. 5. The winners will be separate for individual and groups. 6. Patch change for synthesizers is not allowed in the middle of a song. 7. The following equipment will be provided by us:

a) Drums b) Power supply for synthesizer c) Microphones and sounds

8. Decision of the judges will be final and binding.

Sargam

This Spring Fest get ready to float with the melodies of Indian classical and folk music. The eastern group competition witnesses huge participation and platforms various maestros in the rising. Tune your instruments and strike the right notes to beat some of the ustads of Indian Music.

1. The event is open to any Eastern Group and songs of any eastern language are permitted. 2. A group will be required to perform at least 4 numbers within 35 minutes (Amps on to amps off

inclusive of sound check). 3. Only keyboard part of synthesizer is allowed (Rhythm part is not allowed).

4. Groups will have to bring their own instruments and special effects. However, programmed music is not allowed.

5. Marks will be deducted for exceeding the time limit. 6. Equipment provided will be:

a) One bass amplifier speaker. b) One lead amplifier speaker. c) Adequate microphones. d) 10000 Watts P.A. System.

7. We will not be held responsible for the failure of any instruments. 9. Tuning facilities would be provided backstage. 10. The decision of the judges will be final and binding.

Sa Re Ga Ma

A reminiscence of the childhood game of Antrakshi set in a competitive background, Sa Re Ga Ma is an event to remember the melodies we heard on the dusty old radios in mom’s kitchen. Highly entertaining for the participants and audience alike, it is one event no music enthusiast should miss.

1. This is a team based Antakshari event. 2. Maximum number of participants per team is 3. 3. The event will take place in two rounds prelims and finals.

SF Karaoke

Spring Fest’s karaoke event in association with our online karaoke partner is your time to sing to the lyrics of your favourite songs. Sing to your own joy or to dedicate it to someone special, SF Karaoke offers ample opportunity to bring out the hidden artist within you

1. This is an individual karaoke event. 2. Professionals from an online karaoke singing portal will be conducting the event with the help of their

karaoke software. 3. The music for the selected song would be provided by the organisers and also the lyrics of the song

would be displayed for the participants during the event 4. Performance time will 4 minutes.
