    Muslims Conflicts

Bismillahirrahmaanirrahiim, This morning, while walking to the ofce, my mind wandered. I was thinking

about things that requently appeared on my acebook wall lately.

Actually, con ict among muslims is an old thing. In history, we read con ict

between sman and !uslim demonstrants, Ali and "hawari# group, Ali and

Aisyah, Ali and !uawiyah. Also, the bloodshed was $ery common in e$ery

    dynasty successions.

    !uslim %% Book &' % (adith )*+)Amir b. -a d reported on the authority o his ather that one day Allah s

!essenger may peace be upon him/ came rom a high, land. (e passed by the

mosque o Banu !u awiya, went in and obser$ed two rak ahs there and we also

obser$ed prayer along with him and he made a long supplication to his 0ord. (e

then came to us and said% I asked my 0ord three things and (e has granted me

two but has withheld one. I begged my 0ord that my mmah should not be

destroyed because o amine and (e granted me this. And I begged my 0ord

that my mmah should not be destroyed by drowning by deluge/ and (e

granted me this. And I begged my 0ord that there should be no bloodshed

among the people o my mmah. but (e did not grant it.

1ears ago, I was o ten in$ol$ed in this, but it was only cyber con ict,

alhamdulillah. As a peace lo$er, i tried to a$oid con ict in real li e, and, then

realised that I couldnt a2ord dealing with cyber con ict also. -o, i shi ted rom

    it.

Then, not long ago, someone labeled me as wahabi and kept gi$ing me

in ormation about its de$iation. It brings back memory, because, years ago, I

le t a chatroom a ter it was conquered by wahabi and a ter I recei$ed too

    many labels there. Ironic, right3

It reminded me about a comic strip on acebook. It was about ulama s

discussion and grass root debates. 4eople with knowledge would tend to listen

other s $iew while grass roots would be busy de ending their $iews and

    attacking others.

The thing is, this person tried to attack wahabism based on grass root actions

and unreliable in ormation. 5$en, a ter in ormation about its true state romreliable source was gi$en, it didnt make any di2erence. 6ther attacks kept

coming and it was rom the same source that was pro$en to gi$e alse

in ormation. Though it was claimed to be #ust in ormation and not an attack, but

I thought considering others as 7a##al ollowers, and other bad names, was an

attack. -o, I made a conclusion that I dont really need to respond it.

I, personally, don t like labeling mysel . I ollow ! I atwa, and I dont think they

are wahabi, or are they3 5$en i they are, it is not really big deal as long as theydecide according 8ur an and -unnah. I like reading islamic sites, whether

wahabi or not, as long as it s gi$ing reliable source, not tendensious, non

pro$ocati$e, not ull o hatred, etc.

6h ya, this according 8ur an and -unnah was also debated and this person

mentioned about taqlid because we re not any better than those our Imams.

But, the site that was gi$en, when it answered about -ha9 i s $iew about certain

thing that is widely practiced today as makrooh, the author said something like

we ollow latest opinion in madhab, because it ga$e stronger dalil rom qur an

and sunnah . -o, e$en within a madhab, opinions might di2er and, her group

also claim to use 8ur an and -unnah as parameter. And, i this wahabi group

has opinion that some practices are bid a based on 8ur an and -unnah, should

they hide their opinion and ollow the ow3 I think we re grown up people who

can deal with khila9yah. :our Imams didn t always agree about e$erything and

they didn t hide their opinion which they considered to be right.

I was amiliar with 9qh books as a kid, and it in ormed di2erent opinions about

each topic and which opinion they considered to be stronger based on dalil.

A ter I got internet connection, I sometimes read wahabi sites beside other

islamic sites, and it didn t really bring something new. I mean, they also

ollowed opinions rom scholars and imams be ore them.

It s weird that, some people, a ter being groupist will treat e$en similarities as

di2erences. -ometimes, they don t mind to spread alse news as long as it

de ends their $iew and attack ri$al group.
