REAL NAME: Scott Summers™FIRST APPEARANCE: X-Men #1 (1963)BACKGROUND: Orphaned when the plane he and his family were fl ying was attacked by a UFO, Scott Summers grew up a shy, reserved youngster troubled by headaches. When his mutant power to fi re blasts of energy from his eyes burst forth and endangered a crowd, he ran in fear. Scott fell in with a criminal named the Living Diamond™ who used Scott to carry out his plans, but Professor Charles Xavier™ saved the young man from a life of crime when he asked Scott to become the fi rst offi cial member of the X-Men™.

REAL NAME: Henry “Hank” McCoy™FIRST APPEARANCE: X-Men #1 (1963)BACKGROUND: Born from a father who’d been exposed to radioactive materials, Hank McCoy was called “Beast” by his schoolmates because of his oversized hands and feet as well as his physical prowess. Though these talents made him an all-star on the football fi eld, they also brought him to the attention of the villainous Conquistador™, who kidnapped Hank’s parents in order to force the boy to work for him. The X-Men™ showed up to help Hank free his parents and he joined their ranks as the bombastic Beast!

REAL NAME: Guido Carosella™FIRST APPEARANCE: New Mutants #29 (1985)BACKGROUND: Bodyguard to interstellar mutant rock star Lila Cheney. Stand-up comedian. Enslaved gladiator. Member of X-Factor™. Guido Carosella has led an interesting life, even for a mutant. Guido’s powers keep him in constant pain, which he rarely shows—preferring to crack jokes and have a good time to bury the pain. Even his heroic name, Strong Guy, is the result of a joke: When asked at a press conference if he was the token strong guy on X-Factor, he simply agreed with a laugh and let the name stick.

REAL NAME: Peter WisdomFIRST APPEARANCE: Excalibur #86 (1995)BACKGROUND: A mutant with the ability to generate and throw “hot knives” from his fi ngers, Wisdom was a special operative for Black Air, a British governmental organization that investigated the paranormal. He joined forces with Excalibur™ when he learned that Black Air was working with the London-based Hellfi re Club™, and worked to foil their plans. Since then, Pete has had an on-again, off-again relationship with Kitty Pryde™, led the team known as X-Force™, and rejoined a new Excalibur team.

When the eggs hatch, the host is transformed into a member of the Brood and goes on to repeat the cycle. REAL NAME: Madison Jeffries™FIRST APPEARANCE: Alpha Flight #1 (Box—1983), Alpha Flight #10 (Madison Jeffries—1984)BACKGROUND: Madison Jeffries is the second person to pilot the Box “robot” after its inventor, a paraplegic named Roger Bochs™. When Roger died, Jeffries expanded his role from technician and machinist for Alpha Flight™ to full-fl edged member. A mutant with the ability to transmute metal, plastic, and glass, Jeffries is able to merge with and manipulate the Box armor, changing its shape and creating new weapons as needed.

REAL NAME: Celeste, Esme, Mindee, Phoebe, and Sophie CuckooFIRST APPEARANCE: New X-Men #118 (2001)BACKGROUND: The artifi cially created “daughters” of Emma Frost™, the Stepford Cuckoos™ are psychically linked to one another. In addition to their mental link, they have telepathic powers that become more powerful when used together by their linked hive mind. Originally there were fi ve Cuckoos, but Esme tricked Sophie into killing herself by overextending her powers, and Esme herself was later killed by themutant Xorn™.

REAL NAME: Piotr “Peter” Rasputin™FIRST APPEARANCE: Giant Size X-Men #1 (1975)BACKGROUND: Born and raised in Russia on a collective farm, Piotr Rasputin manifested his mutant ability to transform himself into living steel at adolescence. Rasputin used his strength to serve the collective until Charles Xavier™ convinced him he could better use his powers to serve the entire world by joining the X-Men™ as Colossus. A long-time mainstay of the X-Men, Colossus eventually fell to the Legacy Virus, but was secretly revived by Ord™ of Breakworld and eventually reunited with his team.

Fastball Special Colossus can use Telekinesis, but only Option 3. When using Telekinesis, Colossus can treat any adjacent friendly character that has a point value more than 30 and the damage symbol as if it were a light object, but the character is not destroyed in the attack. After the attack is resolved, modify the character’s attack value and damage value by –2 until the end of the turn, deal it 1 unavoidable damage, and place it in the square nearest to the target to which Colossus has a clear line of fi re. REAL NAME: Lucas BishopFIRST APPEARANCE: Uncanny X-Men #282 (1991)BACKGROUND: Born in a future in which mutants were imprisoned in camps overseen by the mutant-hunting Sentinel™ robots, Bishop helped overthrow the Sentinels using his power to absorb energy and use it to enhance his natural abilities. Part of Xavier’s Security Enforcers after the revolution, Bishop followed the mutant criminal Trevor Fitzroy™ into the past. There he encountered the X-Men™, legends in his time, and even joined the team for a while before moving to Manhattan’s mutant ghetto and spending his time investigating crimes in District X.

REAL NAME: Parker Robbins™FIRST APPEARANCE: The Hood #1 (2002)BACKGROUND: Parker Robbins was a shiftless loser, moving from one dead-end and usually illegal job to another until his cousin talked him into robbing a warehouse. During the caper, Robbins killed a creature called a Nisanti and stole its boots and hood. Always ready to grab for power, he quickly discovered the powers granted by the alien artifacts and became a superhuman criminal. POINT VALUE:

REAL NAME: MiekFIRST APPEARANCE: Incredible Hulk #92 (2006)BACKGROUND: One of a race of insectoids native to the planet Sakaar, most of Miek’s hive was slaughtered by Imperial forces when he was young. Eventually thrown into slavery and then the arenas of Sakaar, Miek became Warbound with other warriors, including the Hulk™. While fi ghting to free Sakaar, Miek underwent a metamorphosis that transformed him into one of the larger kings of his race and the leader of his hive.

Though seemingly unscathed, Banner found that whenever the sun went down he transformed into an uncontrollable monster—only the beginning of Banner’s long journey and his ever-changing bond with the Hulk.

REAL NAME: KorgFIRST APPEARANCE: Journey into Mystery #83 (1962)BACKGROUND: Korg is a member of the Kronan race, and was among the stone-like creatures who encountered the mighty Thor on Earth. Years later Korg and his brother Margus™ were on the planet Sakaar when they were captured by its ruler, the Red King™. Thrown into the arenas, the brothers were forced to fi ght one another until Korg killed Margus. When the Hulk came to Sakaar and Korg became one of his Warbound, the Kronan eagerly joined his war to overthrow the Red King.

REAL NAME: Carl “Crusher” Creel™FIRST APPEARANCE: Journey into Mystery #114 (1965)BACKGROUND: To defeat and humiliate his brother Thor, the Asgardian trickster god Loki gave unrepentant thug Crusher Creel the magical ability to absorb the qualities of anything he touched. Though his powers grew over the years, Creel is just as often defeated by being outsmarted as through sheer force. Despite seemingly being destroyed a number of times, the Absorbing Man always seems to pull himself together again.

REAL NAME: Kevin Sydney™FIRST APPEARANCE: Exiles #1 (2001)BACKGROUND: The mutant shapeshifter called Morph was originally from a universe where he had been part of several major super teams. When Morph became unstuck in time, he was recruited by the Timebroker™ into a team called the Exiles™, who were put together to repair damage to parallel Earths and the time stream. Always quick with a joke, Morph uses humor to keep his friends close and the Exiles together, even as members come and go.

REAL NAME: GorgonFIRST APPEARANCE: Fantastic Four #44 (1965)BACKGROUND: Like all Inhumans™, Gorgon was exposed to the mutating effects of the Terrigen Mists. His mutation took the form of horse-like legs, hoofed feet, and the ability to cause seismic tremors when he stomps his hooves. A member of the Inhuman royal family, Gorgon leads the royal military and serves as bodyguard to his cousin Black Bolt™, king of the Inhumans.
