With over five years down since the last REAL (http://www.examiner.com/topic/real) video release, to say the new

video was a long time coming would be almost an understatement. However, after a lot of hard work, years of

skating, stockpiling photos and footage, endless travel hours, editing, a dedicated team behinds the scenes and

some amazing new Pros and Ams on the team, REAL is set to premiere Since Day One tomorrow at two

special screenings in San Francisco, and worldwide on April 11 at participating skateshops

The current REAL team is one of the most diverse and

energetic in skateboarding (http://www.examiner.com/topic

/skateboarding) today, and includes long-time riders Peter

Ramondetta, Dennis Busenitz, Keith Hufnagel, Max

Schaaf, Nick Dompierre, Chima Ferguson, JT Aultz, Ernie

Torres and James Hardy as well as Justin Brock, Jake

Donnelly, Alex Perelson, Davis Torgerson, Ishod Wair,

Kyle Walker, Robbie Brockel, Massimo Cavedoni and

Antoine Asselin.

Frantically wrapping up the finishing-touch details of the

San Francisco showings and overcoming some technical

and production difficulties, San Francisco's own Deluxe

Distribution (http://dlxsf.com/) finally received the massive

shipment of DVDs earlier this week--much to the relief of

REAL co-founders Jim Thiebaud and Tommy Guerrero.

After a string of false alarms, Guerrero laughed "Really? Is

it really here this time, no BS?" in a video

arrival and ship schedule of the DVDs.

Much excitement has been buzzing around the video in

anticipation of who will have what parts and what exactly

will go down in the video. "These guys get pulled in so

many directions and I just wasn’t going to let that happen

near the end of this project. I sandbagged a lot of stuff and

have a lot of favors to pay back for sure," Thiebaud told

The DVDs also come bundled with an exclusive book

showcasing the work of long-time friend and

photographer/filmer Gabe Morford. Not only is Morford a

notable photographer in his own right, but a number of

skate collaborations and being a fixture in the REAL family

made him an unquestionable fit to help tell the story of the

Since Day One journey.

Come April 11, many local skate shops worldwide will

debut the video in screeings at their shops. Each event

will also function as a benefit for the Johnny Kicks

Cancer foundation (http://www.johnnykickscancer.org/) ,

to honor the tragic loss of the young Johnny Romano in

2008. As the youngest rider honored by the REAL team

and one of the most beloved members of the skate

community, Romano holds a bright legacy as his family

remains actively involved in the skateboarding community

and as pioneers in raising funds and awareness for

cancer-related research, treatments and patient

empowerment.
