In 2010, MWFs Worldwide Qurbani service included 19 of the Worlds poorest and deprived regions. Our field offices ensured that Udhiya was performed in accordance to correct religious teachings and the meat sacrificed reached the poor and needy on time. Last year more than 100,000 families were provided with sacrificial meat in the flood

affected areas of Pakistan. This year in 2011- we hope to perform Qurbani in more than 30 countries worldwide focusing on the recent flood hit areas of Sindh, Pakistan and the Horn of Africa in which millions have been left destitute of food and water for many months.

MWF strives in ensuring easy accessibility of aid through the

strong network of field officers on the ground. We hope that you will continue supporting MWF in all its endeavours in creating a safer world.

WHAT IS QURBANI? Qurbani is a sacred act performed for the sacrifice of an animal slaughtered for the sake of Allah Almighty. This is a sacred ritual which was performed by the Prophet of Islam on the day of Eid ul Adha during the three days of the Islamic month Dhul Hijjah, namely 10th, 11th and the 12th.

Then when (Ismail) reached (the age of) the ability to run about with him, Ibrahim said: O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So think, what is your opinion? Ismail said; O my father, do that (immediately) which you are being commanded. If Allah wills, you will find me amongst the patient (and steadfast).
