The Zona Tortona model A network of small exhibition spaces pepper-potted throughout the development From the river edge to the high street Programmable work space that will provide moments of colour and creativity in the streets and spaces Providing spaces for artists and artisans Work space for a workforce that is increasingly working at home Long term colonisation of units in the high street, attracting individual businesses to the area
Introduce a network of small artisan units into the retained heritage buildings
Offering low cost space for designers, makers, artisan producers, crafts people and artists – see hub, workspace, hospital etc.
Start immediately to promote the long term creative identity of the development
Build a phased programme of creative uses
The Chapel of Ideas, Creative Centre in the church, targeted at individual or small creative businesses working in graphic design, advertising, illustration, publishing. Established, start up and innovation, creating a branded cultural heart for the development and supporting a rejuvenated high street
Hot-desk spaces, private rooms. High speed internet and power-points for laptops, desktops and hardware Common areas including breakout meeting spaces, WiFi, lounge and bar/cafe and large production areas, big tables for working with pen & paper A large gallery and retail space displaying work by the Church tenants, the artisan units and open to access from the wider area
