    MEANING OF BUSINESS

    ETHICS Business ethics refers to the moral principle

    which should govern business activities.They are concerned with determining what

    is right and what is wrong while doing the

    business. Business ethics provide a code of

    conduct for the managers. Another conceptrelated to business ethics is that of values

    BHOPALGAS TRAGEDY

    December 3, 2009, marked

    the 25th anniversary of the

    worlds worst ever

    industrial disaster the gas

    leak that occurred at Union

    Carbide Ltds (UCIL)

    pesticide plant in

    Bhopal(Madhya Pradesh,

    India). 3,000 people were

    killed and many wereinjured, occurred when

    water entered Methyl

    Isocyanate ( MIC) storage

    tank.

    BHOPALGAS TRAGEDY

    Bhopal is not just an incident of industrial disaster and

    human suffering from the last century. It is very much an

    issue of the present century of corporate accountability,people rights, and government responsibility. The lack of

    mandatory laws and norms governing multinationals, legal

    complexities, and government failures are serious obstacles

    in ensuring justice for the people of Bhopal, and for the

    victims of corporate complicity in crimes against

    environment, peoples lives and safety.

    CONCLUSION

    An integrity approach to business can yield strengthened

    competitiveness: it facilitates the delivery of quality productsin an honest, reliable way. This approach can enhance work

    life by making the workplace more fun and challenging. It can

    improve relationships with stakeholders and can instill a more

    positive mindset that fosters creativity and innovations among

    the stakeholders.

    The purpose of ethics is to enhance our lives and our

    relationships both inside and outside of the organization.
