Print is an active medium. Readers are choosing to pick up the

magazine and look at its pages. Attentive and engaged readership

leads to greater retention of the content, including advertising

messages.

MCM reaches a targeted, key demographic. By keeping

content locally focused, we reach a concentrated segment of your

potential customers who not only have purchasing power, but are

also plugged in to the growth in Greater Flint and Genesee County

and interested in supporting it.

You will be associated with quality. All components of our

magazine, from the outstanding photography and quality content

to the paper we print on, combine to produce a respected

publication that our readers associate with quality.

MCM delivers the consistency needed for branding. Our

advertisers and readers know exactly when My City hits the streets,

where to buy it, who receives it and what type of content to expect. That

consistency is critical for advertisers wanting to strengthen their business

brand with an effective marketing campaign.

Each issue reaches multiple readers. Each monthly issue of My

City is delivered to thousands of area professionals, including doctors

and attorneys. This circulation segment accounts for a minimum of

two to four readers per address, as well as the daily office visitors.

Coupled with a growing subscriber base and sales at retail locations,

our total readership exceeds 24,000 impressions per month.

Digital

MY CITY ONLINE

Incorporating digital advertising

into your marketing plan helps

achieve a more comprehensive

strategy. By supplementing your

print schedule with web banners on

mycitymag.com, you guarantee that

your message reaches our online-only

readers, and your brand is reinforced

with those who engage with the

printed magazine, as well. Digital

advertising helps businesses drive

traffic to their own websites – there

is no easier time to visit a website

than when you are already online!

This format is particularly benefi-

cial for advertising events or special

deals, but also enhances any branding

campaign. My City Magazine offers

digital ads in the form of home page

banners, ads in our digi-mag, and

sponsored web content.

My City Magazine believes that a digital presence is crucial in

order to reach as many readers as possible and allow them to

easily reference and share our content. Readers can access all

content at mycitymag.com, or electronically flip through the pages of our

digi-mag. Stories and photos are also shared throughout the month via our

Facebook page. Whether our online versions are a reader’s primary source

for viewing the magazine, a way to email pictures of an event to a friend,

or a means to re-read a favorite story from a previous issue, we know the

digital community is growing and are excited to grow with it.

What does High Res/300dpi mean?

High resolution images suitable for print can come from a digital camera, smart-phone or computer. However, images from a computer must be the original files from the device that took the picture. Photos or logos that have been posted on Facebook or another website are NOT ready for print. Web-based images print 3 times smaller when converted to high quality print standards.

Can I put a coupon on my ad?

No. We do not encourage readers to cut our magazine. If you wish to run a coupon, you may purchase an insert or incorporate a QR code.

What is a Trim Area and why do I need it?

The trim area is extra space around the ad. Most of it will be cut off during the printing process, but it needs to have your background to ensure that white borders will not appear around the artwork. There can be no text or important content within this area.

What is the Print/Safe Area?

The print/safe area in the template shows where your content (text/images) must be so it does not get cut off in the trimming process.
