Abe’s Odes
By Abraham Bernal
I Run
My feet fell like they’re about to fall off because they are so soreI want to get betterBut like a towel, I just keep getting wetterI get too much sweat on my clothesSo I just wash myself off with the hoseWhen I runIts not for funBut running is what I doEven when I really have to go poo
The Runs
When it comes,I got to goGet out the way when it flowsI’m about to burstMy tummy hurtsCall the nurseIt feels like I’m about to give birthWhen I’m done,Its time for the paper workCut the dotted line“Mom! I need another roll!” Thank You George
SleepingSleeping is funIn my dreams I can runFree from the problems of lifeDreams so deep, you can’t cut it with a knife
I like to sleepIn my dreams I can leapBut then I start to cryBut later I find out why
My dream is coming to an endI’m about to wake up from my sleepMy alarm is about to go offThe next thing I’ll hear will be its “BEEP”
LiftWhen I lift
I fall into a driftOf a beast then I feast but when I’m done
With having fun I get real
So I can be a big deal There is no rest,
On my path to be the best
Unusual readings
But why is it then When studying you
The best poems out there Have nothing to do
With rhyming or timing Or making much sense They're all about moods And emotions condensed
But yet they still seemTo mean so much
With such few words,It just doesn’t seem like enough Thank You Braden
This PoemIts hard to think of words that rhymeBut poems don’t have to rhyme all the timeI can’t think of words that rhyme anymoreAnd I don’t remember what this was forBut I keep this poem goingWithout even knowingThat even when I don’t tryRhyming is easy as pieNow even though I’ve had much funThis poem is finally done
