Carol Stephens November Update El Shaddai/Taller de Eli 1 My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest. Exodus 33:14 Good morning to You! A Wonderful new day given to You and Me to walk with our Lord! I Give Him Thanks! For this opportunity! As I sit down to write you about the children and the wonderful lessons about Our God that they are learning, I am reminded of His FAITHFULNESS and Grace that goes with us each new day! At Taller de Eli in this week’s Bible lesson, the children are learning all about how God directed His servant Moses to lead His children out of Egypt. While Moses is out in the desert this particular day, he sees something really unusual. So much so that he had to get closer to see what it was and why this bush was not being consumed by the fire that has engulfed it but not destroying it, when he hears a voice saying, “Moses, Moses” and he says “Here I am.” The voice said, “Do not come near here; remove your sandals from your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.” (Exodus 3:5). God continues speaking by saying, “I AM the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Issac, and the God of Jacob.” Moses hid his face as was the custom and God faithfully spoke to Moses what he had for him to do (v6).

My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest. Exodus 33:14

Good morning to You!

God had a task for Moses - a difficult task, but He promised to be with Moses - “Certainly I will be with you” (v12). Later in exodus 33:14, God had to encourage him again by saying, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

Prayer lessons: The week is full of Drama - all the plagues, conflict with Pharaoh, etc. but in the end, Israel and Gods people see God’s great Miracles. God our father is worthy of Praise, worship, and adoration. He calls us to live a life of Praise and worship to Him, even in the most difficult situations. The week looked like this:

• Day one: Praising God, • Day two: Giving thanks to Him • Day three: worshiping God, expressing love toward God our Father • Day four: to worship is not only for what He does or what He gives us, but for how

wonderful He is, how kind He is and listening to Him - yes He speaks! • Day five: celebrate and enjoy being together with God our Father!

Worship/Adoration

Practical Application: Obedience is not too difficult, God our Father doesn’t ask us to do something we can’t do. For instance, Tuesday’s lesson was “forgiveness is not too difficult.” There are true story examples to give the children. Wednesday’s lesson was “sharing with others is not too difficult,” where they were asked to share an example they have seen in the classroom. Thursday’s lesson was “Accepting others is not too difficult” and Friday’s lesson

was “Self-control is not too difficult.” One example is how we eat breakfast together, waiting until everyone is at the table and we give thanks before we eat. Waiting your turn on the playground for the swing or to ride the tricycle are other examples used.

Creation was the fourth lesson of the morning. Individual lessons included:

• Day 1: Introduction to insects. • Day 2: what makes an insect an insect. • Day 3: insects are everywhere. • Day 4: fascinating characteristics of insects. • Day 5: what do insects eat and do.

This was the science component and included nature walks and experiments to help them learn all about God’s Creation and gift to us.

Portions from the curriculum manual #2 chapter F-8 page 71 - God our FATHER will not ask us to do anything we cannot do.

This is a layout for a week of learning at “Taller de Eli” or “Eli’s Workshop” in English from the children’s book YOU ARE SPECIAL by Max Lucado – God’s way of ministering to his children. According to the gospel of Mathew (27:46), Eli is the name Jesus used when He called out to God His Father from the cross - “Eli, Eli Lama Sabachthani?” (“MY GOD, MY GOD, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?”) The children are learning and having fun doing it. Praise God for the privilege of working with Him at Taller de Eli. God Bless you for your faithful prayers for the Lords Ministry in Mata de Limon. We couldn’t continue without your investment into the lives of these children and their families and their community. We continue to pray for the children and their love for the Lord and fun learning about His creation and love for us! We also continue to pray for staff development in early childhood care as they teach our youngest. Anyely and Josi (our cook) have started a time to get together with former students on Saturday mornings (those who have graduated and are in public school). Two things are happening - Josi is being trained by Anyely in our curriculum to become a teacher in the future. More on this next time, but keep this time in prayer and Josi for her training. And then we will need a cook for next year. All good growth.
