My review of the #IPAD after 1 month usage. August 2010 What am I doing with my Ipad -------------------------------- - Discovering and reading articles, blogs, news, videos (Pulse, Flud, Flipboard, tweetdeck, Discover, youtube) - Discovering new apps (appadvice, appsfire, appstore) - Taking notes (SimpleNote) or structuring ideas (ithoughtsHD) - Read/watch info later or offline (Instapaper, goodreader, itunes podcast, mitube) - Gaming for and with my son. - Education for my son such as interactive books to learn reading Conclusion ----------- It is for me a great tool to READ, LEARN and be more KNOWLEDGEABLE. I use it mainly in my bed or in the sofa. It is also a great tool for my son for education and gaming. My wife? She is waiting for the IPAD V2 with a camera and Skype. She likes today to watch videos and photos in the sofa (but she has already an iphone). Note I haven’t tried yet the following apps: mobileme and iwork; Last but not least ------------------ - I love my ipad but I hate Itunes. The good news is that it is is now easy to bypass it: music: spotify; photo: shuttersnitch; docs:goodreader; streaming: airvideo... BTW, there is also a OpenAppmkt including HTML5 apps. Interesting to follow... - With Skype Videotelphony, Ipad will become a MUST for many families (all expat in the world!) - It is clear that Ipad Applications have to be open (e.g. Ability to Import docs in goodreader from googleDocs), have to be social (share button or send to Instapaper button) and have to be in the cloud to avoid synchronisation matters in between the various devices and data loss (e.g. Simplenote, instapaper). The ability to personalize is also a must (e.g. Your Tweet in flipboard).
