Here are some tips that really and truly work. My25 Tips for Success Tips for when consumers refuse to eat My25 and/or eat better in general. The health of people supported rests on eating nutritious foods; mealtime is the key driver behind weight management and associated, costly conditions such as diabetes and hypertension. Choice is no longer blanket permission to eat whatever, whenever. Rather, responsible choice is the new guideline—which My25 uniquely embraces and incorporates. 1. Let us know, so we can help. 2. Explain to the consumer(s) why it is vital to eat better. Highlight what you know to be important to the consumer: improved quality of life; fewer medications; better fitting clothes; enhanced socialization (which feeling better often propels forward); more energy, including to be more engaged in physical activity; etc. 3. Explain that choice means responsible choice now. Some words that other providers have used: “It’s ok that you’re not too sure about the My25 menus yet. But the option isn’t that you can decide not to eat in a healthier way. Eating healthy is an expectation and our joint responsibility, because food is the main ingredient when it comes to health. There are a lot of ways we can accomplish this and we’d like My25 to help us because they have had a lot of success with people getting healthy by eating foods they like. So please help us and My25 figure out how to do this for you—which healthy foods do you like? And by the way, this doesn’t mean that you can’t eat out—you can every once in a while. So let’s make a plan together.” 4. Involve the consumer(s) in planning menus, so their choices are actually part and parcel of what is being made and served on a daily basis. Choice can now focus on choosing healthy foods. 5. Involve the consumer(s) in meal prep, including flavoring vegetables (use My25’s Bump-Up-Veggie-Flavor Chart). “When you make it, you own it.” 6. Encourage the consumers to watch a number of My25 videos available on the My25 Portal and a smaller selection on Vimeo. 7. We would love to make any consumer a My25 Ambassador. Ambassadors receive a personalized certificate from us that says they’re officially committed to eating better and helping to improve choice and healthy foods in their households. We also involve, reach out to, and reward Ambassadors throughout the year to keep them engaged in healthy eating. Ask to see the details of our My25 Ambassador program
