Life after SPM

So the exams are over, probably got though that difficult phase in your life. After the results are out, do you know what you want to do? It is always that big important question and that essential decision that could carve the path towards your future. Read on to see what are your options and hopefully this will help you make an informed decision.

Your Many Options

STPM / Form 6 STPM or Form 6 is basically the final stage of government schooling should you choose to take this path. The good thing about Form 6 is that their level is similar to that of a pre-u course and you’re automatically sitting for MUET which is a must exam if you intend to apply for international universities later. Although you’re spending about another year and a half reliving the high-school experience, the upside is, it costs cheaper. There are opinions that STPM is one of the hardest pre-u exams but considering with STPM qualifications, it opens up much more opportunities for university applications, whether local or international rather than you spend time and money attending A-Level courses that might not have that sort of versatility. Enquire about Form 6 right in your own school. Your school guidance counsellor should be able to guide you through the steps of application and advice you on which stream is more suitable for you.

Malaysian Matriculation

Matriculation is similar to Form 6 only it is a one year programme compared to Form 6. The pressure is higher because you’re required to learn everything of two years worth into one year. But on the positive side, you save one year and that means being ahead of your peers and also if you work hard, you’re almost guaranteed a spot in a local university.
