    DETAILED DESCRIPTION 1) MyLanguageLabs Summer 2014 New and Re-released Courses will be Java-free! Instructors should create a new Program or Course from the MyLanguageLabs My Courses Catalog to benefit from the automatic elimination of the Java plug-in. Java is no longer required for ANY Voice Recording Activities (new or older courses), the Readiness Checks, or for selected SAM or eText activities in the 2014 Versions. updates as well as the availability dates of the 2014 Versions.

  • 2) Instructros do NOT want to move to the 2014 MyLanguageLabs versions. How will they be affected by Java? While ALL Courses (2014 or previous versions) will have Java-free Voice Recording activities, if instructors do not create their courses from the Summer 2014 versions they will still have the following Java-based content in their existing or copied courses or programs: a.     3) Is there a way to copy the Java-free versions of the Readiness Checks/SAM/etext Activities into older (existing) courses? Yes, Java Plan B! Although we are recommending that users download a NEW 2014 Released Course or Program, if they do not do this step, there is an alternate way for instructors to have a Java-Free Course with their existing older course versions.
