Bearded dragon care sheetYou will hear all sorts about the best way to set-up your first vivarium In fact the most important things to keep your lizard happy and healthy and loved, handle them carefully and they will warm to you. Some tips:-

VivariumThis depends on the size of your dragon, but the bigger the better as your dragon will grow to about 12-15 inches.

HeatingMake sure you have the correct settings depending on your lizard.

FoodMake sure you keep your lizard well-fed, live foods dusted with a vitamin supplement, and fresh vegetables (the vegetables will depend on your lizard type).

WaterMake sure he has fresh clean water everyday and use a supplement to make the water safe (your local shop will supply this).

Lighting10-14 hours using UVB light this is very important. It is also recommended to change the UVB light every six months.

BehaviourYour lizard at first will take time to get used to you, don’t worry if your lizard is shy or skittish, this will change, as he/she will get used to you.

UncharacteristicIf you notice anything unusual like not eating or not moving around, contact your local reptile store, as they will be able to help if not seek a specialist vet.

HygieneYou must wash your hands before and after handling your lizards!
