Message from the Principal
Newsletter Term 3 Week 6 Book Week We celebrated Book Week in style on Monday with a dress-up day and parade at assembly. I was so impressed by the commit-ment and effort of all students and their creative families! It really is a nice way to have a bit of fun and celebrate a love of books and reading. Well done to all for being a part of the day/morning. Staffing Last week we welcomed back Mrs Norris from her four weeks’ LSL and Mrs Burquest from her stint as Acting principal of Bun-garee Primary School. It is great to have them both back after their respective adventures. They will be running Parent-Student-Teacher interviews for all children in 2/3NB on Wednesday afternoon from 1:00PM. Open Afternoon Next Tuesday, 27th August, Miss Wickson, Mrs Burquest and I will be hosting an Open Afternoon from 2:30 – 3:15PM for any prospective families who are yet to decide on a school for their Foundation child/ren for 2020. This will be a very informal ses-sion where families can come on a tour and then we will host a Q&A session. If you know of anyone who is yet to enrol their Foundation level child/ren please advise them to come along and find out who we are at Myrniong PS! Collegiate Visits Over the past couple of weeks we have been host to two different schools who have asked to come and see the quality teaching and learning practices we have in place. Last week teachers from Ballan PS came to observe how we approach the teaching of literacy, and this week a working party of teachers visited from Parkwood Green PS in Melbourne to come and see our ap-proach to the Kathy Walker Play-Based Learning in the F-2 classes. We also have a number of teachers visiting other schools over the term to bring back learning and better inform our practices. I hope you are all keeping warm as the snow starts to fall. Until I see you in person, David Garner “There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.” ~ Colin
