APPLICATIONS FOR ADMISSION INTO UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMES (DEGREE, DIPLOMA AND CERTIFICATE)FOR THE 2018/2019 ACADEMIC YEAR

Mzumbe University invites applications from qualified Tanzanians and non­Tanzanians for admission into degree, diplomaand certificate programmes offered by the University for the academic year 2018/2019.

Mzumbe University offers 25 Bachelor Programmes for the academic year 2018/19. Among these programmes, Bachelor ofBusiness Administration  in Marketing (BBA­MKT),  Bachelor of Accounting and Finance  in Business Sector    (BAF­BS),Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and Bachelor in Human Resource Management (BHRM) are offered at both Mzumbe UniversityMain Campus and Mbeya Campus College. Applicants wishing to be enrolled into one of these programmes have to clearlyindicate their campus preferences during their applications. Other Bachelor Programmes are offered at the Main Campus­Morogoro.  

Mzumbe   University   offers   7   Diploma   and   9   Certificate   Programmes   for   the   academic   year   2018/19.   All   DiplomaProgrammes   are   offered   at   Mbeya   Campus   College   except   for   Diploma   in   Applied   Statistics   (DAS)   and   Diploma   inInformation Technology (DIT) which are offered at the Main Campus­Morogoro. All Certificate Programmes are offered at theMain   Campus­Morogoro   except   for   Certificate   in   Accountancy   (CA)   and  Certificate   in  Human  Resource   Management(CHRM) which are offered at Mbeya Campus College.

Any programme with the code starting with MU is offered at Mzumbe University ­ Main Campus while a programme withthe code MMB is offered at Mzumbe University ­ Mbeya Campus College.

Mode of Application 

i. Apply  online  at  admission.mzumbe.ac.tz  Please  follow carefully  the steps  in the online application system.Before you go to online application system, make sure you have an email address and a mobile phone number.

ii. Before proceeding with application, please read carefully the programme entry requirements as listed below.

iii. An application with Foreign Secondary Certificates must be accompanied by the National Examination Council ofTanzania (NECTA) Equivalence translations.

iv. Applications with Foreign Certificates (Equivalent Qualifications) must be accompanied by the National Council forTechnical Education (NACTE) Equivalence translations.

v. Please, make payment of an application Fee, a Non­refundable TZS 10,000/=  by following payment procedures aftercompleting steps 1 and 2 in the Online Application and Admission System at admission.mzumbe.ac.tz  

vi. Deadline for applications is on 15th August 2018. Successful applicants will be notified through their system useraccounts, email addresses and SMS through mobile phone number used during the application process.

A. GENERAL MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR DEGREE PROGRAMMES 

(a) Direct Entry Qualifications (i) Must hold at least three (3) O­Level credit passes in relevant subjects according to specific programme. (ii) The applicant must have at least two principal level passes at A­Level, provided that the total number of points is at least

4.5  with EXCEPTION of  Bachelor of  Science with Education programme (MU025)  offered   in Faculty  of  Science andTechnology which requires at least 4.0 A­level points. 

(iii) For purposes of calculating minimum cut­off points in (ii) above, the scale is as follows; A=5; B=4; C=3; D=2; E=1; S=0.5.For candidates who sat   for   their  Advanced Certificate  of  Secondary Education Examination  in 2014 and 2015,  therequired scale is as follows;  A=5; B+=4; B=3; C=2; D=1; E=0.5. Also note that, for the candidates  who sat for theirAdvanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination in 2014 and 2015, the Principal Pass starts with C.

    (b) Equivalent Entry Qualifications 

(i) Appropriate Diploma from an accredited institution of not less than 3.0 GPA. In addition, the candidate must have at leastfour passes at Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (O­Level).

(ii) Specific entry requirements are presented in each programme in section B below.  

NOTE: Divinity/Bible knowledge, Arabic Language and Islamic Knowledge are NOT considered in the computation ofcut­off points.
