June 2020 Nā Hoa Kānāwai Newsletter of the Hawaii Supreme Court Law Library (SCLL) Editorial Our library doors have been shuttered, but we have opened our repertoire of digital services and communications to find 'novel' ways of bridging the information divide for the benefit of all patrons with legal research needs. Even though we are held apart by the social distancing order of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been working remotely to ramp up our FAQ information; we have activated a Virtual Reference Desk service and launched a virtual Chatfeature. With the phased reopening of the country and some sections of this state, we are in constant dialog with the appropriate authorities, to work towards slowly re-opening the library. We would like to know how best we can serve you at this time so, drop us a line with your feedback. Did you Know?... that the Public Utilities Commission issued Order #37125 in May 2020 which addresses the Consumer Advocates request to sus- pend any termination or disconnection of regulated utilities such as electric, gas, water/wastewater and telecom utilities in the event of non-payment? There was also a Protec- tive Order that was issued and served on relevant public utilities on May 15, 2020. The emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic has caused many of us to focus more on many areas of our lives including our age and our health status, and ultimately our mortality.
