Working wonders for children with brain

conditionsFamilies where a child has a brain condition face

challenges every day. Just to learn, play, make friends and experience the world can feel difficult, even impossible. But we don’t believe there’s any challenge

that can’t be overcome. So we listen to families, we learn from them. We carry out

research, we design and innovate, we make and share. From new equipment to new learning resources, to new

ways to play and support each other, everything we find out together makes life better, It opens doors to discovering the

world. It’s an incredibly rewarding journey for everyone involved. Why not be a part of it? You never know what we’ll discover together.

About our children’s libraryAs part of our library collection we have books especially for children. We have books to explain specific conditions that you can read with your child and ones for older children to read themselves. We also have fiction featuring characters with special needs. Introductory books and dvds on signing. Books on emotions, growing up and sensory issues as well as books for siblings to explain how life is different for their brother or sister.

We have also been donated some general children’s fiction, which we have also put in the library. The list of these is at the end of this catalogue.

We are sorry, but children cannot be library members themselves, parents and carers can borrow books on behalf of their child as part of their own library membership.

The library is free of charge. Members can borrow two books at a time for 28 days at a time. Find all the details about our library service and sign up as a member on the library page of our website, www.cerebra.org.uk. Or you can give us a call on 0800 328 1159 and ask to speak to our librarian.
