Welcome to Week 8. Wow, what a wonderful week we had with our Athletics Carnival and the school photos last
week. It has certainly been a busy term so far.
I would like to congratulate our students on their displays of wonderful sportsmanship. They cheered each other on,
shook hands at the finish line and even went back to pick up fellow competitors if they fell over in a race. Kindness is
something we should never take for granted so well done to everyone. Thank you to staff for a fabulous day as staff
do not stop all day at these events, but it is also the preparation before hand and the follow up afterwards. Another
thank you to our P&C and and their helpers on the day as the BBQ was fantastic and lots of wonderful was available
all day. Last but not least, thank you to our parents who came along on the day; cheered on all kids, enetered the
parent race, and helped us with organisation and over the day. These days are always a great opportunity for the
kids to share school life with their parents and we always enjoy our interactions too. We look forward to our next
event. Congratulation to Red House for the overall point score for the day. Congratulations to the following

Notes went home today for the OVLC Athletics Carnival. Please return by Thursday, this week.
I would also like to congratulate our kids for their behaviour during our photo day
on Friday. The photographers gave us feedback that it was a pleasure to come to
Nana Glen as the kids were so respectful and co-operative. The thing to note
here is that we don’t instruct our kids to be respectful and polite, they do so
because it is valued at our school. Well done kids, you should be very proud.
Congratulations to Max Koholmi who competed in the Premier’s Multicultural
Speaking Competition last Thursday. We have three other competitors who will
be competing shortly by video link.
The next P&C meeting is next Wednesday, 26th June at 3pm in the staff room.
Everyone is welcome.
Have a great week,
Mrs D.Nicholls
What’s Working Well in Class 4/5 We have been having such a busy time in Year 4/5. Nearly all students over the past few weeks have been away on
school camps. This was the most amazing time and we thank parents and guardians for letting us take their children
away. It is such a privilege to spend time outside of the classroom and school with students. They are truly amazing,
funny, kind and caring little individuals and taking them away on camp is such fun. Thank you! Our students have
participated in the school athletics carnival last Friday. We are so proud of their sportsmanship towards every other
competitor. Students have enjoyed their buddy reading with Grade 1/2. Finally, they have tested their Rube
Goldberg machines. Each design needs to move a ball exactly 1 metre. We encourage you to talk to your child about
their progress and learning as they all have such different plans on how to create and build these designs.
The following photos show our wonderful experiences over the last few weeks.

Nana Glen Public School P&C Newsletter
P&C News Well, end of Term 2 is almost here!
The cross country carnival is on this Friday at the equestrian centre here in Nana Glen. If you are available to assist
with your time, it would be greatly appreciated. Please contact a committee member or one of the office staff.
This event is the P&C’s largest fundraising event for the year, so your help would be appreciated.
After the assembly on the last day of term, the P&C invites all students and parents to stay for lunch. A sausage
sizzle will be provided for all to enjoy as a “give back” to our school community.
Volunteer canteen forms will be sent home this week. We need volunteers for term 3. Please complete the form
and return to school before the end of term, as the roster is being prepared now. If we are unable to get sufficient
numbers of volunteers, the canteen open day will be reduced to Fridays only as we simply can’t rely on the same
people to give up their time, all the time. Please assist in sharing the load so our kids don’t loose this wonderful
resource from our school.
Pie drive is due at the beginning of next term. Order forms will be sent home week 1 term 3. Savoury and desert
pies will be available to order.
Have a great week.
