    INTRODUCTION

    in Tourism and #esort $anagement program at Cavite State University -CvSU.

    by %hich the student1s sills can be developed and improved'

    The Home Economics, Vocational and Technical Education -HEVTED.

    Department of CvSU considers practicum training to be among the most

    important professional preparation activities in %hich "ST#$ students

    participate' )racticum e2periences are intended to allo% students to synthesi*e,

    apply and refine no%ledge and sills learned in their academic e2periences' n

    addition, practicum e2perience is one of the primary %ays in %hich department

    faculty members can observe and evaluate the sills of the student' The

    HEVTED re!uires the student/trainee to prepare a narrative report of her

    practicum e2periences in the hospitality and tourism industry'

    Under this program, training can be defined as a carefully planned and

    handled effort of the management of the cooperating company or establishments

    and schools, through competent employees and instructors, to impart no%/ho%

    and develop certain phases of an individual1s academic and practical no%ledge

    and sills, discipline and social behavior'

    The narrative report of the student1s practicum e2periences at The $anila

    South%oods 3olf and Country Club during the second semester of A4 5678/

    5679 is a must' The student/trainee %as assigned at the front des office %here

    she %ill render a total of 8:6 hours on/the/0ob training'

    The practicum %as not only an e2citing and memorable e2perience for the

    student but gave her a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet a lot of people from

    different cultures and nationality' t also e2posed the student to different

    operations of hospitality and tourism establishments %hich %ould enable her to

    ac!uire the necessary competencies and sills needed in her future career'
