Tennessee Gas Pipeline: What is it?

• 250 mile, 36” high pressure pipe with smaller laterals origina-ng in NY and termina-ng in Dracut
• Also includes new metering sta-ons and compressor sta-ons
• Will deliver 2.2 billion cubic feet of gas per day
• Some gas will be used to power the electric grid; some gas may be liquefied and sold overseas
• Plan is to have pipeline opera-onal by 2018

• We oppose the compromise and use of conserva-on land for anything other than its intended purpose
• We believe the effort to meet Massachusefs’ energy needs should not come at the expense of assets benefihng the public good
• We support an open and inclusive review of energy sourcing op-ons that: • Fully accounts for the pipeline’s impact on quality of life • Priori-zes the investment in and use of renewable solu-ons, as well
as improvements in exis-ng infrastructure • Accelerates the investment in and deployment of energy efficiency
programs that will lower the demand for gas
