National Career Service is a vibrant platform which aims to transform and strengthen the public employment services in the country. It brings together Job Seekers, Employers, Skill Providers, Career Counsellors, Local Service Providers (LSP’s), Career Centers, Placement Organizations, Households and Government Departments on a common platform through the efficient use of information technology.

NCS has partnerships with various private organizations like Freshersworld,

Monster, Quikr, etc. and the data exchange on the portal helps connecting job

seekers with more number of prospective employers.

100+ Model Career Centres (MCCs) have been set up and additional 100 MCCs are being planned.

National Career Service Centres for Differently Abled (NCSC-DA) are being run by DGE across the country.

National Career Service Centres for SCs and STs (NCSC – SCs/STs) for providing employment related training and guidance are also being run by DGE.

empowerment has become a relevant

topic of discussion which is essential

for the overall progress of the

country. Our website has pitched in

the effort by providing the feature of

helping women search for job

This unique feature guides women to

search for jobs easily on the NCS

Portal. All you need is to register on

the NCS Portal (www.ncs.gov.in) as a

jobseeker and click on the “Jobs for

Women” tile available on its home page. After that, “Search Job” screen will be displayed and job

criteria/preferences need to be entered in the “keyword” field. Once it is done, click on the search button to

National Career Service (NCS) Portal

offers interesting Assessment Tests

(BARO Assessment - Psychometric

Test and Cognitive Assessment -

Aptitude Test) for jobseekers to help

them better understand themselves.

It will guide them in making smarter

decisions while looking for job or

career options. You can also access

these tests from the Home page itself

by clicking the Assessment Tests

option from the “Career Information/

Assessment Tests” tile and

Register/Login in order to take the test. After completing the assessment test, jobseeker can view the results

(Assessment Reports) in the Education & Training” tab under “View/Update Profile” in the left panel of the

jobseeker dashboard. As of now, around 4,333 users have successfully taken these assessment tests and getting

help in identifying the most appropriate career option for them.

District Level Mega Job Fair at

Surat, Gujarat

Model Career Centre, Surat/ Assistant Director (Employment) Office in association with Veer Narmad South Gujarat University organized a District Level Mega Job Fair in Surat on 12th June, 2019, which was a great success. The event was conducted at University Convention Hall, VNSGU Campus, Surat, to help unemployed youth with the job opportunities in various reputed companies. Total 43 Employers with more than 2500 vacancies participated in the Job Fair. More than 1600+ candidates attended this job fair out of which around 729 candidates were shortlisted.

Induction Training Programme on

NCS Portal at NICS, Noida

National Institute for Career Service (NICS), DGE,

Ministry of Labour and Employment had recently

conducted two weeks "Induction/Integration

Training Programme on National Career Service

Portal" for newly recruited & promoted Employment

Officers from 10th June to 21st June, 2019. Total 23

officers from two States namely Jammu & Kashmir

and Bihar participated in this training programme.

This two weeks programme mainly focused

on strengthening the understanding of newly

recruited/promoted Employment Officers about

various aspects of Employment Exchanges activities

and NCS Project.

Dattopant Thengadi Rojgar Mela in Ranchi, Jharkhand

On 12th June, 2019, Dattopant Thengadi Rojgar Mela

- June 2019 was held in Ranchi. In this event, Model

Career Centre, Ranchi played a pivotal role in

connecting jobseekers with the employers. Around 38

Companies across various industries participated in

this Job Fair with a massive turnout of more than

3000+ candidates. Some of the major companies who

participated in the Job Fair were Usha Martin,

Reliance Retail, Big Bazaar, Medanta, Orchid

Hospitals etc. At the end of the day around 506

candidates were given on-the-spot offers by the

recruiters while 790 plus candidates were shortlisted

for the next round of selection.

Placement Drive at National Institute for Career Service, Noida

Model Career Centre, National Institute for Career

Service, NOIDA in association with Yuva Shakti

Foundation (YSF) conducted a Placement Drive for

Motherson Group on 14th June, 2019 at its

premises. This drive was specially conducted for the

10th/12th /ITI/Diploma passed out candidates. The

event started with the inaugural speech followed by

the session on “Introduction of NCS Portal” to the

jobseekers. Total 48 candidates participated in this

drive and after interview process 40 candidates

were shortlisted for the next round of interview.

NCS Awareness cum

Registration Session for PwD in

Kanpur

A workshop was organized for PwD candidates who

are presently undergoing Employability Skills

Training under GROW Center of Dr. Reddy

Foundation in Kanpur. Around 20 candidates

attended the session out of which 18 PwD

candidates registered themselves on the NCS portal

with the guidance of Young Professional, Model

Career Centre, Kanpur. The candidates were also

told about other features of the NCS Portal such as

Job Search, Profile Updation, Job Fairs & Events,

NCS Newsletter etc.

Job Fair exclusively for Teachers

in Coimbatore Model Career Centre, Coimbatore conducted a Job

Fair exclusively for teachers on 15th June, 2019 at

its campus. In this unique event, around 24 private

schools participated for hiring teachers for

different subjects. Approximately 239 candidates

attended this job fair and finally 180 candidates

were selected.

Industrial Visit at BST Skills Pvt.

Ltd., Uttarakhand

On 21st June, 2019, Model Career Centre, Udham

Singh Nagar organized an Industrial Visit for the

students of sewing machine operator from Pradhan

Mantri Kaushal Kendra at BST Skills Pvt. Ltd. During

the visit, students were exposed to various working

methods as well as employment practices of the

company. Around 40 students participated in this

industrial visit. It was a great learning experience for

all the students.

NCS Highlights

Placement Drive by Model Career

Centre, Ujjain Model Career Centre, Ujjain successfully organized

a Placement Drive at its campus on 6th June, 2019.

Around 71 B.Sc. Graduate students participated in

this drive out of which 24 candidates got shortlisted.

During the session, candidates were also educated

about the features and utilities of National Career

Service as well as Model Career Centre. In addition

to this, on the spot registrations were also done on

the NCS Portal.

Mega Job Fair by Model Career

Centre, Rajkot Mega Job Fair successfully conducted by Model

Career Centre, Rajkot on 11th June, 2019. The

event took place at the Government ITI, Rajkot to

help youth to get placed in reputed corporate.

Around 60 companies from different sectors

participated in this job fair and offered more than

3400 vacancies. Approximately 3568 candidates

attended this mega event out of which 2075

candidates were shortlisted for the further round of

interviews.

The Indian retail industry has emerged as one of the most dynamic and fast-paced industries due to

3,600 billion by 2020 from US$ 1,824 billion in 2017. It accounts for over 10 per cent of the

India's retail market is expected to increase by 60 per cent to reach US$ 1.1 trillion by 2020, on the back of factors like rising incomes and lifestyle changes by middle class and increased digital connectivity. Online retail sales are forecasted to grow at the rate of 31 per cent year-on-year to reach US$ 32.70 billion in 2018. India is expected to become the world’s fastest growing e-commerce market, driven by robust investment in the sector and rapid increase in the number of internet users. Various agencies have high expectations about growth of Indian e-commerce markets. TCS Skill Gap Training Programme helped

her in securing a job

I am Priyam Pandey from Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand.

After completing my post graduation degree, I was continuously looking

for a job. During my college days when I was Secretary General for

students, I met Young Professional of Model Career Centre, Rudrapur,

Udham Singh Nagar who visited our college for some presentation which

was very much impressive. Later I visited Model Career Service,

Rudrapur regarding my job and there I was informed about the 20 days

TCS Skill Gap Training Programme. This training programme largely

helped me to groom and improve my communication as well as interview

skills. I am pleased to share that I have successfully secured a job in Taj

Rishikesh and happily working here. I am really thankful to MCC for

providing me this great opportunity.

NCS brightened the life of Raju Ronghang

One day I came to know about Indian Institute of Skill Development

(IISD) Program on Maruti Suzuki – Dealer Sales Consultant through

Model Career Centre, Guwahati and I appeared in their test and

interview. On being selected, I began my two months’ classroom

training, where I learned a lot about the Indian Automobile Industry. In

addition to this, I was also trained in interpersonal skiils for my

successful career. After completion of the programme, I am presently

working as a Dealer Sales Consultant (DSC). I am extremely happy to

join this new Job and with all the learning that I have gained from the

training programme. In the end, I would like to say that this programme

has brightened the lives of many young boys and girls by giving them a

decent livelihood.

Kumar

I am a Graduate and was disheartened due to unemployment during my

search for Job. Then one day I received a text message regarding a

Placement Drive at Model Career Centre, Hisar for the post of Zomato

Food Delivery Partner. Then I visited MCC Hisar where I was guided

and registered by the officials there for appearing in Zomato’s

recruitment process and thankfully I got selected. I am very grateful to

Model Career Centre, Hisar for giving me right guidance and right

platform to help me get a good job.

Ambarika writes her own destiny despite

challenges

Entrepreneurial skills can never be learnt from any one, it can only be

developed by trying hands on it. After receiving proper training and

handholding support from National Career Service Centre for

Differently-Abled (NCSCDA), Ms. Ambarika Tejaswini Nayak can be

called a successful entrepreneur hailing from a rural area of Koraput

district. She has a locomotor disability and her family is economically

classified under Below Poverty Line (BPL) category. After Matriculation

she completed an ITI course and got to know about Skill Development

Trainings provided by NCSCDA and took admission in Ornament

designing and Handwork Specialist Appliqué. Despite facing challenges

she has established herself successfully as a business woman. Ambarika

says that she is thankful to trio initiative of National Career Service

Centre for Differently-Abled (NCSCDA), Odisha Skill Development

Authority & Department of Social Security and Empowerment of

Persons with Disabilities (SSEPD), for making her learn many

techniques as well as life skills and helped her in forming a Self-Help

Group (SHG) namely Tejas SHG Products by adding other disabled

trainees of NCSCDA.
