I was rollerblading on a bumpy path when I slipped and fell landing on my wrist and elbow. The wrist feels sprained and is annoyingly stiff and painful. I can’t flex by pointer finger very well. A warm water bottle on the injury also really helps.
Inflammatory process
Immobilization of injury site
Activation of immune response
Destruction of pathogens
Delivery of oxygen and nutrients
Delivery of repair cells
Bruising Arnica…a favorite first-aid remedy. Swelling and bruising with soreness and aching. Blunt injuries.
Bellis…“the internal arnica.” Well suited for bruising of internal organs and glands. (blows to the abdomen, breasts, testes)
Hypericum…for the “nerve bruises.” (tips & nails of fingers/toes, and the spine, especially the tailbone-coccyx)
Ruta...for bone and periosteum bruises.
Cases: Bellis, Hypericum, Ruta
Case 1: Soreness of abdomen after punch to the trunk of the body. Feels tender and there’s some internal bruising. Case 2: Severe pain after kick to the shin. Remedy for bruises of the periosteum, especially used where the bone is close to the surface like the shinbone, hip-iliac crest or elbow. Case 3: A slip on the ice, lands the skater on her tailbone. The tailbone is at the base of the spinal cord and is densely innervated.

Sprains and Strains Arnica, acute sprains and muscle strain after unaccustomed
exercise, involving swelling and bruised pain.
Ruta, joint, ligaments, tendon or cartilage injury. Bruised soreness, weak joints, lameness, restless, weariness. Has an specially affinity for smaller joints. Better warmth and gentle motion.
Rhus tox, stiff, restless, sore painful muscle and tendon from overexertion. Pain worse on initial motion, yet improved with continued motion. Pain is much better with warmth, even hot compresses and worse cold. Has a special affinity for the back.
Cases: Ruta and Rhus tox
On the court, he dives for the ball and falls directly on the knee. The doctor suspects a small cartilage tear. He has also sprained a finger joint. The doctor suspects a injury to a tendon. Injuries are better warm applications.
It’s been a fun, but rough day on the trail and he has tweaked his back. The pain is much better with a hot water bottle. He is understandably irritable and the pain is causing more restless than usual.
