NCTTA President
National Collegiate Table Tennis Association
Dear Willy:
On behalf of the citizens of Albuquerque, New Mexico, I would like to extend my personal
invitation to you to select Albuquerque as the site of your next convention.
The Duke City has much to offer your delegates when it comes to accommodations, meeting facilities and
Southwestern hospitality. It also has much to offer your group when the day's work has commenced. As an
outdoor enthusiast, I enjoy our spectacular climate that boasts not only all four seasons, but 310 days of
ample sunshine. Our city is also home to the best golf in the Southwest, world class visual and performing
arts and some of the most unique cuisine in the country. If you have time, I invite your group to explore
our city's rich culture and heritage by visiting both the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center and the National
Hispanic Cultural Center, or taking a stroll through historic Old Town, the heart of Albuquerque since it
was founded in 1706.
Albuquerque is a combination of the very old and the highly contemporary; the frontier town and the
cosmopolitan city. It is a wonderful place to both live and visit; I myself have experienced the city from
both perspectives. I am well aware that there are many cities able and anxious to accommodate groups of
your size. However, what I can tell you about Albuquerque is this: in addition to our unique meeting
facilities, variety of diverse dining options and breathtaking landscapes, we consistently outshine our
competitors with our most valuable asset: our people. The warm residents and hospitality professionals of
Albuquerque are ready to welcome any group - be it an intimate meeting or a large convention - with open
arms and assist them in making their visit here one they won't forget.
As Mayor of this great city, I invite you and your group to experience the Southwest at its best. Come and
see for yourself why I am proud to call Albuquerque my home. We look forward to serving you.
Sincerely,
Richard J. Berry
Mayor, City of Albuquerque

Dear Willy:
I would first like to sincerely thank you for considering Albuquerque for your 2014 College Table Tennis National Championships. We take pride in this unique city and always look forward to sharing our culture, heritage, fantastic climate, recreational opportunities and all of the wonderful things that make New Mexico the "Land of Enchantment."
Albuquerque is a city unlike any other in the world. Albuquerque is not a city that can be described over the telephone, portrayed in a brochure, or displayed on the Internet. Albuquerque is a destination that you must see to truly appreciate everything that makes it magical from our beautiful Sandia Mountains, our nineteen Pueblo Indian communities, our incredible scenic beauty, our diverse cultures, cuisine, architecture, year-round recreation, to the most beautiful sunrise and sunsets that you could ever possibly imagine.
As Chair of the Board of Directors of the Albuquerque Convention and Visitors Bureau, I would like to personally invite you and your convention delegates to visit, explore and enjoy Albuquerque. Rest assured that you are working with one of the finest group of people in the hospitality industry and as such your convention is already on its way to being one of the most successful you've ever held. The Albuquerque Convention & Visitors Bureau has been rewarded by those in the meetings industry with awards of excellence for several consecutive years. These include the M&C Gold Service Award, the Successful Meetings Pinnacle Award, and Association Management's Inner Circle Award.
Also please be assured that success doesn't stop here. You will find that Albuquerque has some of the warmest, friendliest, and most sincere people in the world. It is truly a privilege for those of us that are fortunate enough to live in this wonderful city.
Once again, Willy, we would be honored to have the opportunity to host your group and look forward to exceeding all of your expectations.
Sincerely,
Steve Hiatt, Chair Albuquerque Convention & Visitors Bureau
e Albuquerque Convention and Visitors Bureau invites you to explore our culturally diverse city full of art, science, history, scenic beauty and a whole lot of fun. ALBUQUERQUE – IT’S A TRIP.®
Centuries of multicultural heritage contrasted with today’s high tech research and development make
Albuquerque an unsurpassed Southwest meeting destination.
Many convention delegates extend their visit and bring their families to explore the fascinating
surroundings in our mile-high city. Within a few minutes of downtown Albuquerque, visitors enjoy
popular sites such as the Albuquerque BioPark, which includes the Rio Grande Zoological Park,
Albuquerque Aquarium and Rio Grande Botanic Gardens, historic Old Town, the New Mexico Museum
of Natural History & Science, the Albuquerque Museum of Art and History and Explora! Science Center
and Children’s Museum.
Albuquerque is nestled below the 10,378-foot Sandia Mountains with the silvery thread-like Rio Grande
flowing through its central region. A ride up the Sandia Peak Tramway, the world’s longest single-span
tramway, provides an 11,000 square mile view from the mountain peak. Spectacular sunsets and
breathtaking vistas can be viewed from here or any location in the city.
The list of entertainment options is endless including the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center for
entertainment, dining, and shopping, pari-mutuel horse racing at The Downs, high-stakes gaming at one
of the beautiful new Indian casinos, side trips to Santa Fe, the Turquoise Trail and arts colonies, and
nineteen Indian pueblos nearby.
Downtown Albuquerque’s ongoing $350 million revitalization project continues to bring new businesses
and restaurants to the city’s center. New venues to Downtown Albuquerque include specialty and
designer stores, unique restaurants, internet cafés and spas all located within a few blocks of the
Convention Center and downtown hotels.
We invite you to take a closer look at the irresistible draw of Albuquerque’s diverse cultural heritage,
scenic beauty, mild climate, delicious cuisine and friendly people. You will discover, like many before
you, that meetings in Albuquerque bring record attendance and success.
