N a t i o n a l G a m b l i n g S t a t i s t i c s
The NGB maintains a national gambling statistics database that contains information on primarystatistics such as turnover, gross gambling revenue (GGR), gambling tax and return to players/punters. Provincial Licensing Authorities (PLAs) are required to submit the primary statistics to the Board on aquarterly basis for consolidation and reporting on the national status. The data presented below is based on annual audited data, except for the Free State (based on quarterly submitted figures).
The results for 2009/2010 continued to show an increase in GGR around the country. The GGR increased by 2,17% from R15,921 billion (2008/2009) to R16,268 billion in 2009/2010.
