National Training Workshop on Nanomaterials & One Day Symposium on Nanotechnology Research in Pakistan
Training Workshop:
Training workshop on nanomaterials will be held for two days from 07-11-2016 (Monday) to 08-11-2016 (Tuesday) and following activities will be focused;
Training on FESEM, TEM, AFM, Dynamic Light Scat-tering (Zetasizer), Atomic Absorption Spectropho-tometer, UV-Visible Spectrophotometer (Nanodrop), Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LCMS) , Confocal Laser Scanning Microscope by
I- Practical Demonstration II- Animations/Movies/Videos
Applications of Nanomaterials such as Nanoferroflu-id, Sensing Properties, Cyclic Voltammetry, Photo-catalytic Degradation of Pollutants, etc
One Day Symposium:
One Day Symposium on Nanotechnology will be held on
09-11-2016 (Wednesday) and people working in any
aspect/area of nanotechnology may present their work
in the symposium. Presenters may address the follow-
ing important areas but not necessarily limited to these
ones.
Current Scenario and future prospects of Nanotech-nology in Pakistan
Nanomaterials; Carbon based Nanomaterials, Bio-materials, magnetic materials, optical materials, pol-ymers, composites, etc with useful & novel morpholo-gies like Nanowires, Nanorods, Nanotubes, etc.
Synthesis techniques; Hydrothermal, Solvothermal , Laser Ablation, Self-Assembly, CVD, Co-Precipitation, Sol-Gel, Green Tech, Bio-Synthesis, etc..
Applications: Drug Delivery, Bio-imaging, Diagnos-tics, Photocatalysis, Sensing, Forensics, Antibacterial & Antimicrobial activities of nanomaterials, etc.
Device Fabrication using Nanotech Approach
NOTE. Beginners, students and professionals just starting their career are highly encouraged.
Nanotechnology has recently emerged as most vi-
brant area of science, technology and engineering
which exhibits great potential of applications in di-
versified sectors such as Health, Food & Agriculture,
Textile, Electronics, Environment, Energy, Biomedi-
cal , etc. National Institute for Biotechnology and
Genetic Engineering (NIBGE) has established a strong
infrastructure to carry out cutting edge research re-
lated with this promising field. Nanobiotechnology
Group (NBT) at NIBGE is a dynamic and active group
equipped with the most sophisticated characteriza-
tion techniques such as Field Emission Scanning
Electron Microscopy (FESEM), Atomic Force Microsco-
py (AFM), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM),
Dynamic Light Scattering (Zeta Sizer Nano), etc. We
are immensely delighted to announce a National
Training Workshop on Nanomaterials as well as One
Day Symposium on Nanotechnology at NIBGE.
Training workshop will include lectures and demon-
strations/animations whereas in symposium invited
lectures/talks will be delivered by the active & expe-
rienced people of the field. Few of the participants of
the workshop having good profile may be given a
chance to present their research work in the sympo-
sium. We hope that this event will provide all the
participants with a good opportunity to establish
collaborations with NIBGE and institutes/
universities of the participants.
