Bandipur National Park (Kannada: ಬಡಪರ ಷರಯ

ಉದನ) established in 1974 as a tiger reserve under  Project Tiger , is a national park located in

the south ndian state o! Karnataka" t #as once a private hunting reserve !or the $aharaja o!

,1+- k% (+4- s %i) %aking it the largest protected area in southern ndia and largest habitate

o! #ild elephants in south 5sia"

The Mudumalai National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary (Ta%il:  தமல சய பஙக மற

வஙகள ரணய) also a declared tiger reserve, lies on the north#estern side o! the /ilgiri

ills ('lue $ountains), in /ilgiri ;istrict, about 182 kilo%etres (9- %i) north<#est o! oi%batore

cit& in Kongu /adu region o! Ta%il /adu" t shares its boundaries #ith the states

o! Karnataka and Kerala" The sanctuar& is divided into !ive ranges = $asinagudi, Thepakadu,
