One of the best ways to permanently secure the future of competi-tive shooting is to give gifts to help permanently endow it. This is why John Sigler, 2007-2008 NRA President, established both the NRA and the NRA Foundation Competitive Shooting & National Champion-

ships Endowments as an important priority. These endowments help ensure the continued operation and growth

of competitive shooting and national championship events.

An endowment is a permanent fund that produces investment income. The

permanent fund is never touched – only a portion of the fund’s earnings are used for qualified programs. Earnings in excess of funds used for program purposes are reinvested to ensure the fund’s growth, thus providing a source of annual income

in perpetuity. In the case of the Competitive Shooting & National Championship Endow-ments, the collective gifts will work together to sustain and grow competitive shooting programs.

Both the NRA and the NRA Founda-tion have established a Competitive Shooting &

National Championships Endowment, and a gift can be made to either, depending on your tax needs. Gifts

to the NRA Foundation are deductible for tax purposes, while gifts made to the NRA are not tax deductible. Your gift to either Competitive Shooting & National Champion-

ships Endowment will benefit eligible NRA-supported Competitive Shooting programs, including: com-

petitions, junior programs, volunteer activities, postal matches, and disabled shooting services.

ATTENTION COMPETITORS W9 information will be electronically collected and automatically verified during the registration process through a secure verification website. Registration cannot be finalized without filling out the requested information and verification being completed, or selecting the opt-out option.

SQUADDING Competitors are squadded on the same target and with the same group of competitors throughout the individual Championships.

The Relay numbers will change and Relay 1 will always fire first. The squadding ticket, which is in the packet, will provide more information.

All individual firing for the day will be completed before a competitor leaves the firing line.

Individual fired match numbers and days on which they are fired are listed in the Schedule of Events of this program.

It is the competitor’s responsibility to be present when their relay is called to the firing line. No one will be allowed to set up on the firing line after the end of the 3-minute preparation period.

as the booklet is set up in the order in which the matches are fired. Failure to use the proper scorecard will result in a score of “0.”

All scorecards and team cards used in the matches must be labeled with self adhesive labels supplied in each competitor’s packet. Make certain that you place your labels on your scorecards before you go to the range. Unidentifiable scores will not be used. Do not use felt-tip pens to fill out scorecards.

All scorecards must be turned in to a Line Official within 10 minutes of completion of firing a match. Failure to do so may disallow that score for awards. Competitors who appear at the firing line without scorecards will be required to purchase blue substitute scorecards at a cost of $5 per scorecard. It is the competitor’s responsibility to have the correct change.

When signing scorecards, the competitors must remember they are signing for the value of each shot indicated on the card. Each competi-tor is responsible for their scorecard. See NRA Pistol Rule 18.14.

SCORING Competitors will perform scoring after each l0-shot string. Each competitor will score the target to the left, except for those firing on the first target on a line, whose scoring duties will be performed by National Match personnel. In Team Matches, each team must supply a scorer for another team. The decision of the Scoring Referee is final.

USE OF SCORING DEVICES Competitors acting as scorers may use standard NRA overlays. See NRA Pistol Rule 14.3.1.

TIES A shoot-off will be conducted to determine the winner of a match where an unbreakable tie exists. Ties for class and category awards in matches will be broken in accordance with NRA Pistol Rulebook Section 15.

CHALLENGES Each competitor should check their scores as they are posted on the bulletin board at Building 950 to verify accuracy. Unless otherwise noted, scores posted are preliminary and do not necessarily reflect the final standings and/or awards won. If you feel your score, class, or category are not correct, it is your responsibility (Team Captain for team matches) to report this to the Statistical Office prior to the close of the posted challenge period for that match. See NRA Pistol Rule 18.13.

Any errors must be reported to the Statistical Office prior to closing of the match challenge period. Go to the Statistical Office and explain the discrepancy. The challenge will be processed and corrections made if warranted.

It is the competitor’s responsibility to make certain that the scores posted are correct. Failure to check scores within the time limit will result in the penalty of losing the privilege of any further challenge. It is the Statistical Office’s responsibility to correct scores prior to the end of the challenge period. After the challenge period, the competitor accepts the responsibility for scores posted.
