Description (unaltered, good condition) Ihe Buena Vista Hotel was constructed in 1928 as a rooming house. The
two-story house is a brick-veneered t i l e structure with a metal-tile roof. A l l rafters aure exposed. The rooms are arranged along two long central hallways tuAiicii are evident on the outside because of the central doors i n the front facade.
The main feature of the simple structure is the porch. The roof of the porch is f l a t to form the wrought-iron railed pordi c^jening off the seccxid^floor h a l l . A metal-tile hipped roof surrounds this deck and covers the f i r s t - f l o o r porch. Pour leurge brick pedestals aivi square woodai posts support the porch. I t is in an older residential/commercial area.

Ihe Buena Vista Hotel was b u i l t in 1928, by D.D. and Vista Duncan, to capitalize on the local housing needs. The two-story t i l e structure with brick veneer was b u i l t by E.D. Jones, a local contractor, for §9,500. I t ccaitained 21 rcxms and two baths. Since it:s construct:icn, i t has served f a i t h f u l l y as a rooming house and stands as a reminder of vAiat was cxice a flourishing "cottage industry" i n Stamford.
