Chuck Carter manages the Horizon Air contract relationship for RLHC. Lisa McCaslin, Task Force Director of Sales for Red Lion Hotel Wenatchee, saw an opportunity with that contract rate. She noticed it was well below the market and began working with Chuck and the Wenatchee Revenue Team. Lisa successfully negotiated a three-year contract with a 30 percent increase in the room rate. That is $438,000 in revenue over the next three years, with $105,000 of that incremental due to the rate increase.

April and May brought our hotel sales teams out in force in Sacramento, Portland, Olympia and the Northeast United States. 24 RLHC Sales and Catering Managers, along with nine National Sales Directors visited more than 157 accounts and uncovered more than $3 million in business opportunities. Much of that opportunity is in the pipeline and being converted.   Customer events are a great way to demonstrate our product capability by highlighting our talent in the culinary arena, banquets and overall guest service. More than 75 prospects and customers were treated to a feast of flavor and color from the culinary, banquets and catering teams at Red Lion on the River in Jantzen Beach during our Portland Sales mission. Several customers hadn’t been to Jantzen Beach in some time and their expectations were exceeded all around. We invite you to join our coordinated sales efforts and host a customer event at your hotel. With preparation, it always pays off!

RLHC and Cascadia Soapery Find Fans on the East Coast RLHC National Sales and partner hotels blitzed markets in New York City, Washington DC and Baltimore. On these missions, the teams brought news of new locations, Cascadia Soapery bath amenities and the Hotel RL brand. Together, they uncovered new business opportunities for RLHC. Prospects and customers we called upon received a Cascadia Soapery amenity package and they were impressed by the scents and unique branding. Some even asked where they could buy the products. More than 31 direct sales appointments have resulted in identifying more than $1.3 million in business opportunities, $89,000 of which has converted to definite business.

Barb Gendron, with the Wenatchee, Olympia and Yakima sales teams, won a three year contract with the Washington Newspaper Publishers Association. Barb highlighted excellent perks from the Book More, Stay More and Save More campaign. In 2016, the WNSPA will host their events at Red Lion Hotel Wenatchee, 2017 events will be at Hotel RL Olympia and 2018 events at Red Lion Hotel Yakima. Barb created a compelling proposal in a mock “newspaper” format, which also helped to seal this deal. The WNSPA was impressed by her attention to detail and interest in their business. Securing multi-year and multi-booking deals is a great way to build your group base. Book More, Stay More, Save More can be your perfect tool in doing just that.
