RECENT HIGH EXPOSURE TRIAL RESULTS
• Obtained a defense verdict for UPS in litigation in Cook County Circuit Court (IL) concerning a motor vehicle accident between a UPS tractor-trailer and another automobile that the automobile driver claimed led to his serious injuries.
• Obtained defense verdict for the BNSF Railway Company at trial in San Diego Superior Court (CA) in litigation concerning an incident in which a 23-year old U.S. Navy sailor flew off his motorcycle allegedly due to potholes and unsafe railroad tracks, leading to his death. Jurors deliberated for 30 minutes following a two-week trial before determining that our client bore no responsibility for the sailor’s death.
• Represented Greyhound at trial in a highly publicized case involving a triple fatality.
• Represented the Los Angeles Dodgers in a high-profile lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court (CA) concerning the assault of a baseball fan in the parking lot of Dodgers Stadium; jury returned a partial plaintiff verdict for less than the amount we offered to settle.
• Represented the construction manager for the job site in the 91st Street Crane Collapse Litigation, a highly-publicized lawsuit concerning a major construction accident in Manhattan. Following an eleven-month trial that featured more than 75 testifying witnesses, the jury found that our client was indemnified by the codefendant subcontractors and further agreed that our client was not negligent in the matter.
• Defended Dexter Hysol Aerospace LLC in a $22 million lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court (CA) over the allegedly asbestos-related death of a former aerospace worker; the jury came to the conclusion that the death wasn’t caused by asbestos after all and returned a full defense verdict.
• Obtained a defense verdict for BraunAbility, a manufacturer of wheelchair accessible vans, in contentious litigation in the State Court of Cherokee County (GA) alleging that a defectively designed van led to the death of an infant; the court agreed with our argument that the van had been modified.
• Defended apartment complex Trump Village Section 3, Inc. at trial in Kings County Supreme Court (NY) in litigation concerning a trip and fall that allegedly resulted in serious injury to the plaintiff. Due to the defendant having the same name as the President of the United States, several prospective jurors had strong views against our client, and as a result we spent an extensive amount of time obtaining promises from the jury to be fair. Nevertheless, we obtained a unanimous defense verdict in this case.
• Secured a unanimous defense verdict in litigation in Clark County District Court (NV) against nightclub Blue Martini Las Vegas in which the plaintiff claimed she tripped and fell on a two-step staircase as she was leaving, leading to several serious injuries. After little more than an hour of deliberations, the jury returned an 8-0 verdict against the plaintiff.
